Change/Remove Upload Approval Policies

I do understand the sentiment of wanting to protect users from themselves & far less savory individuals of ill repute that would just love to put the next world wide news virii up & down every thread they could just hoping someone clicked it..very considerate indeed..

In my short time here though..what I've been noticing affecting me directly is wanting to upload a document or image for review within the community..or view an image typically in regards to an example (error, position in game, guide photo of some sort, proof)

So my suggestion is if the ability exists..do away with the need for approval on images & document files specifically..while still choking the life out of executables..dlls & the like with regulation..

Why not uploading them elsewhere ?

No need for approval then and we'll all know it's safe.

I understand your position..I do..its a matter of principle for me..complicates something that need not be..uploading to another host & linking through various means back elsewhere is just silly :-/

If the function was not available at all here..I'd probably do it & have no quams about it..

I just see an issue with things Pending Approval indefinitely..a .PNG of 3 Mr. Pinchy in my inventory for example..or a .PDF from Anubis about LazyBot..so I thought I'd suggest a solution :-)

I would agree with this, but make it so you needed like 5 or 10 rep to be able to use it.
That way, spammers can't upload stuff, and random people can't upload pictures of penises or whatever.

not a bad point :-) I don't disagree with that..in fact even though I don't have it myself..I wouldn't be opposed to at least 10 - 20 rep required..

I'm all for screening uploads..I agree with the premise..just on files that matter though..

.PNG, .PDF, .JPEG..c'mooooon ;-)

Its kinda weird..I've uploaded a few profiles I've made now & I can upload them in a .ZIP without needing approval..I could put all kinds of shady things in a .ZIP & I don't like uploading those for that very reason..rather it be the authentic file at face value so people see what they're getting..
