    Be more strict with trolls?

I thought I would bring it up because this is something that has been bothering me hugely on mmowned lately. The amount of people that simply say "fail guide" or "common sense" or "stupid guide because buy low sell high fails" ...
I mean honestly, half the time the guides are half decent for beginner contributors who are starting out on MMowned - yet people troll them just because they can. I have seen some people who have been on the site for like 3 years and then randomly decide to make 1 post to troll or say something ugly because they are in a bad mood then disappear back into their hole until the next time they get owned in life and come back to mmowned to troll some more.

Trolling it against MMowned rules, people really need to respect the rules and stop generating such a negative atmosphere in posts.

I am part of many forum communities with a wide range of interested and niches, however honestly most of them are a lot more strict with trolls and as soon as someone trolls or says something negative the whole community frowns on him.

I have noticed that this sort of thing is particularly common in World of Warcraft communities, but it is something that we can improve slightly by being more strict about it.

Instead of having negative posts throught the forum and it turning into fights and arguments, imagine a place where almost every post is supportive. If people don't like the post or agree with it they should either PM a mob, the original poster or report the post if they feel that strongly about it.

New people wanting to start contributing feel intimidated because some don't give them any respect nor a chance to begin. I have several friends who I have been trying to encourage to start posting on mmowned for a while, some of them run some amazing blogs and others I know are really talented and smart when it comes to wow, yet they don't post because they feel intimidated and don't want to become just that write off who posted that stupid guide, sort of thing.

I know certain people can give negative reputation etc, but really it isn't used enough. I know there is a fine difference between abusing it and using it, but still. If mods, contributors, elites and legendaries started stepping forward and trying to build a more positive atmosphere in places like wow guides section where it is mostly dominated by new users and leechers, we could really change the sort of attitude people have towards mmowned. We should be encouraging people to contribute, not making them feel bad and insignificant.

There are going to be trolls everywhere you go. Just like in the real world . Half the times guides ARE reposts or crap guides because people are too lazy to bother to take some time instead of just trying to get like 5 rep out of a post.

If it bothers you that much or others that much, there are moderators for a reason, send them a report. They aren't there to sit around and not help. Well besides Errage.(<3)

    Closed imo.

Yes but, their post gets deleted. Wow. They just do it again.

There needs to be bigger repercussions and we need the actual mmowned community to work together to push this out. and believe me it is ALOT worse here than on many other forums. I am not trying to offend MMowned by saying this, I am just stating the truth and trying to find a solution to it. I really do enjoy MMowned and would like to see it reach its full potential.

also corey you are not a mod, it is not up to you whether a thread gets closed or not.

buy low, sell high is common sense. it is used in the real world all the time and it is unnecessary to keep posting worthless guides "<insert item here> fast profit!"....

also, people are not going to learn if you just sit there and "report the post". trolls will keep people in balance )

It is not a re-post and they are contributing. There is nothing wrong with that then. Everyone starts somewhere and if we keep discouraging people from contributing, where is the profit for us?

The only thing people who re-post contribute to is re-posting itself. I never stated I was a moderator, I stated my opinion which is this thread should be closed.

Like I said it it isn't a repost and they are contributing then it is helpful. Either way I am just trying to help improve mmowned. I am no where saying that reposting is right, I am simply saying that people need a better attitude and that there is something we can to improve it.

Yea, trolls are everywhere. However a stricter consequence may work.

Yeah we need to enforce rules against trolling better, you get in trouble if you break another rule such as rep trading, or breaking a sb rule but not much is really done when people troll, why, isn't it a rule too?

Holy shit, we need to have more stricter rules on people using the term "trolling" incorrectly. Seriously wanna be newfags, flaming is not trolling.
