Site introduction (long, apologies)

I recently joined the site, after having using it on a few occasions after google searches and references from friends. My apologies beforehand about the length.

After using the site for just a few days, the biggest issue I have noticed thus far is a lack of information in terms of how to go about unlocking certain of the sites features.

For example, I was only minutes ago informed by the site that I must have a post count of 10 before sending pm's to anyone other than a mod. This occurred after I had typed a fairly long and detailed message, requesting advice from another member. (Another reason I am making this post, I need to get my post count up).

Secondly, I have limited functionality in many of the forums. While this is to be expected since I am new to the site, I cannot find documentation anywhere (FAQ's, individual forum guidelines, forum stickies) on how to gain access to these features. Obviously, gaining member status or higher would most likely allow me to use most of these missing features, however, I am unable to post in the WoW scam forums which is my area of expertise, and am thereby extremely limited in my methods for gaining rep and post counts at the moment.

That said, my suggestion is to somehow integrate new users more smoothly. Possibly send an automated PM with recommendations on how/where to begin posting and gaining rep, and what they must do to gain certain of the site's features. Possibly even while registering for the site there may be a method to display information attaining to new members, thereby eliminating the need for any new forums/clutter.

If on the other hand I have managed to somehow miss all of this information, it only clearly shows that this information needs to be more available to those in need of it. Again, a simple link to this information when I registered for the site would have saved several hours I spent looking for it in vain.

Good point but look in general chat there are many stickies in there about these sorts of things and the post count before PM is to stop advertisers. Hope that you do contrib to wow scams as theres were i lurk :P

Yeah, KuRIoS's handbook (Very useful, props) was the closest thing I have found so far pertaining to my problems. It explains climbing the site ranks very well, however I still cannot seem to find information regarding gaining full access to the forums (ability to post new threads, replies, include attachments and ability to edit posts). Thanks for the feedback however =)

And a good point too! I must admit, when I joined way back when things weren't the same as they are now. I donated a few days in, which unlocked everything (even contrib lounge, cause back then it was the one, not shared/contrib/private/elite. One for all). I think donating will still give you PMs and such, but this really is a good suggestion.

god u are a retard beyond the scale.. i say that when its a repost, or if it is a stupid suggestion not if it is a well thoughtoff suggestion like this one. Specially when we have to deal with posts that is on the border to "shouldnt be allowed to be on mmowned"

OP, I understand ur concern and i will definitely take it up with the staff on what we can do. If you could send me an email with descriptions a little more detailed than this, on where u cannot post and what it tells you as a reason then it would be great, as we do not have many limitations to our forums. the ones that are there should be described in the handbook
