Skyrim - steal from display case without opening PS3

Look directly into a display case without opening it and hit "O" which brings up the map item magic screen.
Hit "O" again and get ready to hit "X" as there is an exploit letting you steal the item inside. No matter how hard the lock is as it ignores it. Make sure the cross hair is also targeted on the item you wish to steal.

What happens is that when hitting O the screen zooms a tiny bit which is enough to make your character be looking past the glass. This was on my PS3.

I have yet to find a wow exploit but had to post this here as I'm assuming someone might play Skyrim too.
