    Need some help to equip some RAM blocks in my Computer.

    Well, i finally realised that i needed more RAM. So i opened the case, what i found inside was:
    • A total of 1GB RAM, in 2 RAM blocks, of 512 MB each.
    • 4 RAM Sockets, two blues and two blacks. The 2 ram blocks where equipped in the blue sockets. They where set up like this:
    • I released one of the RAM blocks, and copied the text there, it was: '512MB 1Rx8 PC2-3200U-333-12-D3' Under it was some more. 'CN M378T653CZ3-CCC 0546
    Well, i'm going to buy 2x1GB RAM blocks, can i then equip them, without having to remove my old ones? And if yes, or no, how? Also, could you give me a link to 2x1GB RAM Blocks, which would fit into it?

    Code:
    http://www.memorystock.com/memory/HewlettPackardPavilionMediaCenterTVm7350dk.html
    Specs is there.

    Need some help to equip some RAM blocks in my Computer.

    Yes, you should be able to. (Atleast that's what I did.)
    But whatever happens to your PC, you are responsible for what you do.

    ok first you have 4 ram slots so you only need to buy 2 more 512 slots (4 x 512= 2048 or 2gb).

    if you do want to buy another 2 gig of ram and go for 3gig ram (max xp will utilize is 3.25) then this is how to do it:

    1.)make yourself anti static. do this by touching the metal part of your case while it is earthed (plugged into the wall but off at the mains).

    2.) there should be 2 clips holding the ram in place. push those in and the ram should raise itself out of the slots. take care not to scratch it. place on an antistatic paper or bag (the new ram should [will] come with some).

    3.) to insert new ram repeat step 1.) then gently place it in to the slots (generally go for the largest increment e.g. 1 gig over 512, first then go along to the smallest sized.

    4.) firmly and evenly push the ram into place untill you hear a click. some pc's can take a lot of pushing as they are fairly stiff so keep pushing till it locks into place.

    5.) boot up the pc (if it doesnt boot up turn it on at the wall as thats proberly what you forgot :P lol )

    6.) enjoy :P

    now onto question 2 what ram to put in.

    Kingston 1GB DDR2 400MHz/PC2-3200 Memory Cl3 Unbuffered 1.8V 240-pin - Ebuyer that should be some ok ram for you. thats a 1 gig stick so you want 2 for your 2x1gig.

    feel free to pm me if you need more help.

    usually you should buy the same ram so you don't get any problems, if you do, just put the 2 in the black slots, should be no problem.

    AAAAAAAA, you must check what mainboard you got, they are limited to an amount of ram, theres a free software called "everest" (home edition)... If you know what mainboard you got, google for it, in some shops you can see what RAM it needs, and how much RAM is possible.... There are different types of ram, I think that you can put DDR2 + DDR1 into your mainboard, but just ONLY DDR2 or ONLY DDR1... thats why some blocks are blue and some not, but im not 100% sure, only 90% about that, and I never did that stupid anti static stuff, and handled ram like shit for 100 times and it never got broken, but ... I dont take resposibility if you brake it because of that.

    Ok if you cant understand the wierd shit im talking look here:
    Intel P4 775Pin Mainboard + 3Gh x2 CPU + 1GB DDR2 KIT - (eBay item 300181817159 end time Dec-18-07 20:31:33 PST)

    Scroll down till you see that:
    * 1GB DDRII PC667/533 Memory Included
    * Supprots TWO 240PIN DDR2 Memory upto 4gig

    THIS IS TEH IMPROTENT PART ^^
    If this mainboard would be yours, you would know that you need DDR2 PC667/553 Ram, and can have up to 4 gig.

    EDIT: HERE IS THAT ****ING EVEREST: Download EVEREST Home Edition 2.20 - Everest Home Edition - a freeware system information, system diagnostics and benchmarking solution - Softpedia
