I'd like to first state that this is a rumor, but a very legitimate sounding one. I was told that Movshare, a video hosting site that has recently started to host pirated movies without taking them down due to copyright, has made it on to Googles' radar. The FBI recently seized (Illegally, mind you, but the debate over those is another topic) seven domain names associated with similar sites that did not comply with their copyright claims. The sites were seized, and a single image stating that the domains were seized by American corporate interests (Again, the debate over this is for another topic). I wasn't told, and I'm also not sure, as to why Google would track every search including the keyword "Movshare". They have also throttled search suggestions including "Movshare", making them much, much less common than they should be compared to its' popularity as a search term.
Who knows, maybe this will turn into a Limewire type scenario. Just a heads up, guys.
