Windows 7 without paying.

So I'm in the process of getting bits for a brand new custom PC. One thing I totally forgot about was an OS!

So being a student, trying to get everything as cheap as I can, I had a butchers around t'internetz and found a plethora of student deals, only problem is they're all upgrades for windows 7.

I've had a few ideas and wondered if these would work:


1) Download a cracked version of Windows 7 to a disc, load it up, then once its up and running - insert a legitimate copy of 7 and run a repair to fix the cracked files.

2) Download a crack version of Vista and the buy the legitimate upgrade for £30 quid

3) Buy Windows 7 legitimately you cheap ****

4) Don't be an idiot, just download a cracked version and leave it at that

5) ????

6) Profit

If your University is partnered with MSDN-AA then you can get Windows XP, Vista, and 7 for free. If you can't, then I'd just buy the operating system with a student discount because it's really not that much.

for a new system? buy an oem for like 80 bucks, if ur getting a new comp then u have the money to spend, and afaik its like 40$ if u get the student from microsoft

Get the OEM version with student discount. Worked for me, and you don't get any of those silly programs that come with home/ proffessional versions.
