This is a copy+paste from my thread at overclockers.net
That one will be more regulary updated than this one.
Hey there fellas.
I decided to mod my Chieftec Dragon case, it's one that has been dusting in my storage room for a year or so now.
This case is painted in **** ugly red, and the painting is real bad, trust me, so i'll have to get rid of it and paint it black.
Anyone want to donate/sell one/two fan controllers for floppy drive bay's?
I need to fill up those two slots i have, but fan controlles are extremely expensive in Norway.
Please contact me via PM.
Some ideas for this mod would be awesome !
Pictures:
Front panel (No mods done, yet) :
The case itself
You can see that i have removed the bottom harddrive cage mount.
The top of the case, (The paining wasnt this bad, it's just my attempt at trying to get rid of it with sand paper, which is really time consuming.)
The front of the case, you can see how i hard i failed at the painting.
The sidedoor, really, i'm not kidding you, removing that paint is one time heavy and muscle-hurting process.
Here are my planned modifications:
See this picture:
<----The text beneath is only for personal purposes---->
- Paint it Matte Black.
- Drill cable management holes.
- There are room for two 80mm fans in the back, i'm going to turn that into 92mm holes, 120mm seems impossible.
- Same for the front, room for two 80mm fans, going to make space for two 120mm fans, this is why i can't use two harddrive cages (read below).
- I'm using 4 HDD's, but the harddrive cage only supports 3 drives, any advices on this one ? (I won't be using both cages, only one)
Things i need help with ;
Getting a replacement front panel (The one i have now misses a few front covers, like these.)
This list is kind of for myself, so don't be confused if you see any foreign (norwegian) language here :P
Silverstone Fp33 - 2 of them to put in the floppy drive bays.
Cooler Master 4-in-3 Device Module
Convert the three 5.25" drive bays into a four 3.5” HDD module
-To put in the top of the case (5,25 bays)
