I have been seeing a slow decline of some quality threads here, and a couple of people have the right idea in their threads, so to help more newer members try to list farming areas, and other exploits or guides, and when they constantly get flamed for "no pics" or "vid plz". I know some people feel a bit dumb because they do not know how to make a video that well, and don't know what type of software to do, and how to compress it and such, so i decided to create a guide that will show you completely how to create a video using fraps (if you bought it or torrented it) and compressing it using windows movie maker. Hopefully, creating this thread will mean having a large increase in quality threads from now on, and less "thread shitting" Via 15 posts of "pics or its not working" or constant requests for videos of the exploit or farming route.
Step 1
If you Have Fraps installed you can skip this step, if you dont, you can buy it, or pirate it.
No i will not give you a link, but i highly reccomend you use fraps, for its quality is very good.
Step 2
When you have downloaded FRAPS, Go to your specified download directory and then double click fraps
When the FRAPS window opens up, click "I Agree"
Choose your Specified Installation Folder
Then select the start folder name you want added, now fraps is installed.
Step 3
Okay, now that fraps is installed, run fraps, then open up World Of Warcraft
Go to the place where you want to start recording, make sure fraps is running, and press F9 once, then start your exploit, farming route, or guide.
When you are done press F9 once more, and it should have saved it to the default directory, If you do not know where that is, open fraps up, click the "movies" tab and look at the "Folder to save movies in".
Step 4
You may have noticed that your video is extremely large, due to the quality.
If you know and have a favorite video compressor, you can compress your video yourself, but i will be copying a guide from How to Compress a Video File With Windows Movie Maker | Cash for Bloggers
to show you how to compress a video with Windows Movie Maker
Compressing Your Video!
Open Windows Movie Maker, and click on Import Video link in the menu on the left side.
Choose the video file that you want to import, and download it to the program.
Drag a video clip with your mouse, and drop it on the Time line below.
Now click on FILE at the top, and then Save Movie File
Choose My computer, and click next
Enter a file name for your video, and choose a directory to save your file to. Click Next
In the new window, click on Show more choices link.
Check the box Other Settings, and a new menu will appear.
Open the menu, and select any of three given options for
“Video for Broadband”: 512 Kbps, 340Kbps, and 150Kbps.
512Kbps offers the best quality, but is also the largest file.
In my example I chose the smallest file size, which is “Video for Broadband 150 Kbps”
Click Next, and save your movie in the smaller file size.
Now, your file has been compressed, you can view it to see the quality.
Now, all you have to do is upload it to a specified website of your choice
I suggest Vimeo, Video Sharing For You if you can, or YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
How To Map Farm Routes!
Sometimes for simple farm routes all you need is the map of the region, and you to edit it.
If you dont know how to do this, here is what you do.
Step 1
Go to the region where you are farming
Step 2
Open up your map, you are just taking a screenshot of the region right now, so dont worry about editing it or anything.
Step 3
Take a screenshot (the default key is "PrtScSysRq")
The image will be saved in C://Users/public/games/World Of Warcraft/Screenshots
Step 4
I just use a simple online photo editor to map routes on world of warcraft, because you dont need something intricate or difficult. So go to
FotoFlexer - The world's most advanced online photo editor
and click "Upload Photo" , Choose your photo in your world of warcraft screen shots directory, and wait for it to upload.
Step 5
Click Decorate, Then Draw, And change the brush size and color to whatever you want it to be, highlight the route you use, and then click Save Photo, Save it to where you want, Then go to
ImageShack® - Online Media Hosting
And upload the folder, and your ready to share it with us!
