Im guessing what brought this on was the closing of the site a few weeks back? Makes sense really, I mean it is a site for hacking/exploiting a game but you have to draw the line between legal and illegal.

Even though the section had in the header that it was for educational purposes only, a quick look inside and you could see it clearly wasn't ^^

Good riddance I say, MMOwned has become waaay less trustworthy since the scamming section was introduced...You cant even trust the elite area with usernames/passwords now without some retard taking them all or changing them, when that wasn't the case a while back.

Well no, what happened weeks ago has nothing to do with this as it was already planned.

I like how some people who are commenting on this thread have uploaded phishers & such into the Scams section.

Also, the scams section was one of the 2 reasons why I visit MMOwned daily. Now that you've re-vamped it, it becomes shit. All it does is increase user-awareness of various scams... And also the forum sub-title is mis-leading. You might as well make it the 'Anti-Scam' Section. Be prepared to lose A LOT of traffic on your site.

Gotta love when people who knows nothing hands out warnings... just like jess.... Jess, prepare to lose A LOT of hugs IRL because we changed scams section... that would be as valid

Ditto on EU and US gamecards.

But that aside, what about a place to do Giveaways for non-scammed stuff (Website invites and the likes) and have rules saying no accounts, cards, etc [so there wont be any chance that scammed items get through].

Or would you prefer we just do that in General Chat.

Edit: What about renaming the WoW Scams section to something else since it's no longer WoW Scams in there, it's the Debunking of WoW Scams.
So something like:

traffic has increased since we changed rules on scam section so i doubt that has anything to do with it

I cheer you so much! Lets just stop and think a second. Yes, Potentially we will loose traffic but lets think here. I would much rather have the originals sticking around ( Cypher, Kynox, Dombo ect. ) and loose lazy leechers rather than having a horrible site where nobody can be trusted. I speak as if I know because I used to be a member a few months back and I have since had a break and come back reformed.

Sigh, yes, keylogging and such are bad but in reality by removing all of the Scam Section content you will be losing a ton of members.

Sure, MMOwned gets SOME reputation back.
But we're still looked at as Exploiters and Hackers rather than Exploiters, Hackers, and Scammers.

Keylogging didn't belong nor did anything regarding fraud or a Paypal; but scamming methods deserve to stay.
I can live with phishers being removed, but now the scam section will be filled with [HOW TO] Not be Scammed by (Insert Overused Scam Here).

Instead of people being able to voice and show new methods of scamming, which in turn can be used to prevent the scam, the Scam section will now be filled with repost after repost.

Is such an example of a post being censored, although it could be used for people to prevent that type of scam.

Are examples of two very, very similar ideas and practically reposts.

Unless you want the scamming section filled with about 15 "legal" threads, I suggest some of the rules are changed.

ALOT OF TRAFFIC. sorry only speak if u know what u are talking about, we have seen an increase ever since scam rules were changed... funny isnt it..

also ur complain about reposts... will it be different than the THOUSANDS of reposts of phishers with only little to no change to them? I think not..

I personally loved the scam section, now you killed it, grats.

And no giveaways? are you nuts? it wouldnt hurt your rep anyway! ffs! the emu section is shit compared to acweb, and the other sections just dont help. The site has gone to shit.
