Is this comp worth the buy?

    Hey guys

There's this laptop on sale for $350 marked down from $800 and i was wondering if it is a piece of junk or if its worth it. Heres the link for the system info. I want to play some of the newer games like Fallout 3 and i may start up WoW again. You think this computer is worth the buy?

    Thanks in advance,
    iaretehfunny?

Depends on what you'll be using It for. Decent for media/surfing the web but thats about It. If your buying as a gift I'd say Its a good buy. Good Luck!

Oops just read complete post.. No I wouldn't buy for gaming.

If you`re looking for a gaming computer, DONT TAKE A LAPTOP.
Thats the first thing said :-)

Then indeed comes the hardware, a processor. Any new gaming PC should atleast have a dual clore with high clocks ( 3 Ghz or above ) like intels E8500.
Or any quad core really, the q6600 is very famous. Quad core at 2.4 ghz..

Then comes the videocard, there are many many out there. I dont know what games you wanna play, but you`ll get VERY far with these :
    NVIDIA : 9600 GT , 8800 GT, 9800 GT
    ATI : 4850, 4870
~If you found another videocard just post it here and I`ll post my opinion about it ~

Then comes RAM, Id take 4gb for a new one.
Note that 32-bit operating systems like Vista and XP ( Standard versions ) can only use 3.3 max.
I`d aim for 4gb at 800 Mhz with a brand, such as OCZ, Crucial, GEiL,Corsair.
Doesnt Really have to be one of these brands, but I recommend it..

If you have ideas about certain pieces just post a link to them from tigerdirect or so, I`ll see if I can post any thoughts I might have about it.
