Re: WowServer got busted by F.B.I [Random]

The FBI does more seizures of IS equipment around the world than you'd think. I used to think the same thing: outside of the US, no jurisdiction. And you're right, to an extent, but the long arms of the law do traverse US boundaries. The FBI can’t TELL another country to grant them authority, but they can request it. They have seized website content, and entire servers outside of the US in the past, so it's not 100% out of the question. You never know, if Blizz has been working with the government to wax private servers, and the government decided to take one out in conjunction with Danish authorities to make a statement. This >could< be real, but yes, it >could< be fake. Maybe they are going to bring the hammer down.

    Can't really be sure.

I'm putting my money on fake in this case though, because I’d have to think that if the FBI were to seize something, there'd be links to the letter of the law, quoting legislature, etc, somewhere in the notification.

That’s just my .02G worth, I could be wrong. =)

Don't think FBI would host the pic on the person's site. And they would just shut it down, not bother making a fancy page.

Re: WowServer got busted by F.B.I [Random]

if anyone remembers elitetorrents.com when it was busted, the photos were hosted on fbi.gov servers.. also the reason that the fbi even gave 2 shits was cause elitetorrents was the first to leak the newest star wars movie 5 days before its debut in theaters.. and they were under MPAA pressure

Re: WowServer got busted by F.B.I [Random]

Yeah, for anyone who thinks this is real. The URL has funpic in it.. and it's a .jpg this isn't even a website, just a picture...

Another thing I would like to add, is if someone is getting arrested by the Federal government, they will not make it all fancy and noticable, it is under privacy laws.
