I just got my stereo all plugged in in my room, and I decided to add a new speaker to it so I would have a bass.


I am listining to it but I change the song to something relay loud (while its on full blast) and the stupid thing turns off..... I look at it call a friend then I went over and sniffed the speakers found nothing, the only thing I can think of is there arnt enough watts getting through

Well putting them inside of it is terrible for the sound quality.

A lot of stereo setups now have a built in chip which if you change a song while it is at a certain level the stereo will turn it self off so it doesn't blow the speakers.

The last Sony I had did it but my new one, if I change the song or radio station while it is up higher than half way, it turns itself down.

use an amp or a preamp to push the sub..just simple sterio's and subs don't like each other..
