Rofl, awesome.
Rofl, awesome.
omg i didn't know there were so performant algorithms
I am trying to compress 200 Meg with level 7, have been on for almost 2 hours now... Waiting for the results.
And have great data loss and propably corrupted files.
yep. corrupted about 1g of my oblivion mods...
make that all fo mymod except the ones which are 3mb or lower.... and i had 3gb...... i would suggest none using this piece of crap.

Trying this with a 4,5gb MKV DVD rip (720p) and will see if its the same when extracted again and the ratio of the archive. The biggest job for a compression program is to manage those nasty audio and video files, they are hardest to make small without quality loss.
*Edit*
Hehe, that program doesn't handle PAQ that well so I am gonna try with another program. Now what ever program you use, a compression method is the same. Read a bit about PAQ on wikipedia if you like to find out more about it: PAQ - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Atm it says 53 hours left.. so it takes ages. Remember that time = money so if you use 2 days to compress 5gb down to 1gb, and 2 days to revert it -you could spend those 4 days to work and buy yourself a bigger disk to avoid using time on waiting and instead buying a bigger hard drive. :P Would probably be faster to earn money to buy a bigger hard drive though.. x)
I did test it with a smaller file;
I compressed a MP3 on 7 MB (320 kbps, 44 kHz)
It became 6.9 MB (PAQ, compression rate 7)
So in the end, it doesn't handle video and audio in any special way, but it sure also takes time to compress... no wonder RAR and ZIP are still on the top (they are much faster)

Yes extreme compression is risky, but can be very handy. Like I said it doesn't perform that well with video and audio files but is very handy for large programs etc. And be patient, I usually leave it on overnight to compress.
nope. messed up my oblivion! screw this. not usefull at all. and i did it at 3! well im used to re-installing oblivion anyway.
Nice toolused it, it's amazing
Recommended for people with small hardisks!
Sup?
hey fdfcool try to use the files your compressed and the files in the compressed folder.![]()
geeez thats hard to imagine 4 gig to 9 mb
crap dude nice
:gtfo2:
As it was stated earlier, although amazing this program is prone to corrupt files when not used correctly and trust me it is quite frequently.
With that said, when a file is corrupted it does not have to actually by the file fault and can be the actual download.. If I'm making sense. It's kind of a pot luck sort of thing, I've been on forums where people have uploaded a 10mb file which uncompressed could easily be close to a gigabyte big and some people could use it and some people could not. I'm not sure what that is dependent on but if you are having troubles uncompressing it, it might be worth to redownload it and attempt again.
Then again it might not be worth the time..
omg this guide dont works for windows xp,can u give one for the newest version of windows xp?
