is spaceboting still dangerous
I still use this. v4.01 is amazing. I took a few months off from leveling, but started back up last week. Haven't had any issues with suspensions or anything.
I'd imagine the issues in March were from an errant GM who had it out for botters that week. Either way, a 1 week suspension isn't the end of the world if you do get caught.
Well, spacebot is my new best friend! Took a character from 25 to 48 and another from 26 to currently 37 with it, over the course of the past week and a half.
Running into a problem on the 48 though. No matter how I try, I can't seem to construct a recording that doesn't fail the 48 minefield mission - even when the mission in which I recorded it not only won, but did so without losing more than a quarter health, and without rolling since the bot seems to struggle with playing back rolls. Suggestions?
There was a patch sometime since then that removed all the cash rewards from space. Presumably to discourage botting.
Joke's on them, I just want the levels. But they're probably less concerned with botting now that you're not profiting off of it.

thanks Breadguy, the bot is brilliant, Have been using the bot for awhile now and its still going strong, keep up the good work.
I leave it on while I sleep, so about 7 hours a night.
I am having a problem with it starting to fail after 10 wins in a row, seems to be an issue with the game starting to lag out and being jittery, so my all nighters are not going well. Easy to crank out an hour though.
As for mission 48, I've never had a problem passing it with the recording that is already included with the bot, though personal recordings help maximize the XP.
Also, it does cost a pretty penny to level this way now. Back in February I did my Inquisitor from 16-50 and made about 1mil credits from it, which then turned around and dropped to 600k after training.
And mission 48 will get you all the way to 55 with full mission XP as it doesn't go grey. Takes about 2 nights/16 hours of successful runs to hit 55 from 50.
are you doing this on a VM?
i noticed the same thing happening for me on some missions (after like the 10th mission, it would start lagging and failing), it's weird, couldn't exactly figure it out
the only thing i did was set the bot so that it closed the game and restarted with a batch of new missions (7 or so)
I'm doing it on an SSD, back in February I ran it on the same drive and it used to run well over 8 hours straight. If I set it to restart the game I'll need to take off my authenticator.
I'm going to try it tonight with Polith Mine Field and see how it goes. I'd rather not have to wake up every hour to restart.
So do I have to win a space mission before I can send my character to go grind levels on it?
I made it to 11/1 before I had 3 losses in a row that kept going on a custom recording of Polith. At the beginning of the run my memory usage in task manager for the game was 1,029,000K for the main exe(on 64 bit it runs 2 of them).
By the ned of the run that memory usage is up to 1,257,000, a 20% increase in memory usage that may be causing the lag issues. No clue what it's from, but restarting the game clears it. I didn't have this issue running Ascendancy from 50-55 when 2.0 went live on the same hardware using v3.66
FINAL EDIT: Looks like it's a memory leak glitch with the game, long known issue.

That seems to have fixed it. Now the game runs at about .5GB of memory instead of 1.3GB.
First test saw 10/1. I'll be running this most of tonight to verify if it's a permanent solution.
