A question for all the people who got banned

How many of you actually play the game? I exclusively just bot to sell credits. I'm wondering if part of the reason why people get banned is becaause during the day they play, being seen by various friends, clanmates, and randoms, and then at night when you bot some of them notice you're just afking in space missions all night and report you for it.

from what it looks like, most are legit botters that don't even leave the ship in most cases and make a fresh toon

that being said, BW can ban botters easily. they just choose when and how many (waves). all those bots without exceptions produce patterns and trackable data (i'm not talking about this) that you can quickly process with today's technology.

even if thats not true a troll programmer could make a AHK/AU to track people and then report to bw, or maybe do it manually if he has nothing better to do with his life

seems to me you can get away with it by limiting the hours and not botting like a mad man 24 hours a day.

got to make it realistic. definitely not more than 5 hours in a row etc

I was also recently suspended for a week for using Lucky's Spacebot. It makes me a little angry to see people who have done this to level 5+ toons to max level and i've been doing it for 2 weeks (not 2 weeks straight obviously ) and I get a week ban.

My character was unguilded, and has never had any interaction with any other person yet (new toon) therefore i know i wasn't reported.

No action has ever been taken against my account before, and I didn't receive a warning.

I have about 57 days played on my main character, 12 hour of which are legit(I played when the game first came out for about a week or two, got bored and stopped. I started up again about 3 months ago just for botting) By this point I'm so far ahead of what I've put into the game being banned would suck just because I'd no longer make money through it not because I'd really lose anything. I don't interact with anyone but to send credits to people and I send the credits on my main character.

In my opinion, this game totally sucks. I play the galaxy emu servers and I find them to be far more enjoyable than SWTOR. Plus they feel alot like MUDs from back in the day. Even once SWTOR goes F2P I might still pay 15 a month(I think this is an option they're still providing) if it provides some type of benefit to making credits or something I need.

I honestly think its just luck. I know some day I'll get banned, fingers crossed that it isn't soon, but when it happens oh well. Its moreso a bad judgement call on their behalf. Based on my lack of activity for the 6 months after the game launched, I'm hoping they will realize that I dislike their game and only play it for botting.

yeah I guess once the game goes F2P i'll have to make a second account i don't care about to farm credits with the spacebot.
i'll have to make sure i put them on an offshore account so the IRS, errr BIOWARE won't find em =P

Actually you will have to still buy the membership. F2P has limited amount of space missions per week.

you sure about this, or speculating? I was under the impression they told us limitations on flashpoints, operations, and warzones. I don't remember them mentioning space missions.

I mostly use mine to farm the dailies on 2-4 characters and buy the material boxes. I always figured if i was banned/suspended i would insist I was doing the missions myself, assuming they can't literally prove its not me at the computer.

I do want to use the bot to finish my level 30 jugg though so I'm scared of leaving him to run the same mission over and over. My excuse if any GM inquired over that would just be I have a younger brother who loves to play space missions so I put him to work lol.

I started this way too, just doing dailies. Didn't attract any attention until i started leveling a toon from scratch with repeating missions.

I would probably try that excuse too. I don't have a little brother and I'm sure they'll see I've done space missions for days on end. That or I hired some chinese laborer for it. I doubt that'll go over well.
I remember losing all of my D3 accounts and writing to blizzard support explaining to them how its a bad business move on their part. Their game is largely based on buying gear from the AH, I provided a needed service to the players. I don't think I brought up this point but also through selling gold on the AH gives them a part of the profits.
Turns out they have a worse business sense than I thought.

Banned on 2/6 accounts for "Selling credits" i was using untz on all 6 running 20h / day, funny thing is my HDD died a few days before, couldnt bot, just got back, accs banned :P

Banned 2/4. I got suspended. I have access to it now. THe suspension was for botting, the bans were for selling credits. From now on, I will take the suspension. I leveled these toons to make credits and no point in letting them sit. The longer the accounts are in existence, the closer to getting banned, may as well MAX OUT on credits. Yes I sell credits every chance I get. Just like drugs, if you want 100 credits I will sell it to you. You want 5.46M I will sell it. You onmly want 200k, I will sell it. Level to make money, that is what they get used for.
