Sorry i cant insert the image, for some reason whenever i insert a link or a img it wont add my comment to the thread. More likely due to the blend with the background, the text is readable on it's own but with a light backdrop it's insanely tough.

That's right. If i didn't know what the text should be, i couldn't read it.

And, I'd put that as a banner, not a logo... too cluttered to be a logo, which should be clean and nice.

Okay, I made something new, blended it in with the site so you can take a look at it as a whole.
Also can be used as a logo, or a *stamp* to put on guild screenshots and so on...

EDIT:Also, note that the black background of the logo is more transparent, i kinda messed that up somewhere in the process, the page background is more visible, but right now, im to tired to do anzthing with it.

Snce your website contains fire, and goes along with the defiant theme, I decided to go with a fiery background, and to contrast it, the text is darkblue, lightning -ish, fire/lightning can be problematic to pull of but i think I have succeded pretty well
this is the last banner I post if you would like a logo aswell based on previous work to go along with it let me know.

Are you sure?

Try making a banner with only one focus point, as i look at it, i really dont know where to look, my eyes cannot rest on the picture anywhere, its too *agressive* on the eyes, if you know what i mean.
I would try to make the background more... backgroundish, its supposet to be the base for all the other stuff, and the text a bit sharper and easier to read.

Take it as a friendly advice, im not a professional, just an amateur like you.

believe me i know exactly what you mean, but sometimes when I leave something simple it just looks too unsettling, and I tend to overly fill things, on the text I can agree, however it might be because I used some blurring as the texture I used didn't mesh properly.

Funny thing is, I already removed some stuff, like lightning around the logo in the mid as i thought it was distracting and didn't have a purpose and the "Sparkwing EU" was initially somewhere but just looked odd.

I usually make things that challenge visually, with lots of eye candy, look somewhere and you see a lightning, energy waves that touch the text and continue as lightning :P

FOR THE OP : Can you post the borders the site uses? Would make a banner easier to fit if surrounded by borders, also if you are happy with any of the posted things, and what changes would you like, because since you are paying for it , you have every damn right to customize as you see fit

Your banner ( https://i.imgur.com/ncgdF.jpg) looks great, she wasn't lieing, the thing is I don't think the art style and font match the metal/fire theme of the website, the only improvement im thinking is if you add a metal texture, and try making it appear like a text on metal, pretty hard to pull off.Would look nice on a different style of website, would be great for a blog tho.

Your first one looks neat, clean and crisp, however I'm thinking that you created that font before using a blackfont, get rid of it using the eraser or create the text on transparent font, because it has this black square which you can hardly notice, also experiment with more colors that contrast, orange/blue red/green, as monocolor tends to denote a static and bland feel.

If you want a suggestion try working with lights, or some effects, and see what you can do.

I really want some feedback from the OP aswell, because It would really be helpful if he said something like " Where the rift logo is a FREAKIN VOLCANO WITH MY NAME AND 2 ORANGES" and then everyone has a go at making said volcano, because we are basically running blind atm, well that's my input

Another attempt, this time i tried the metal with flaming-lightning text THING, what science has deemed in possible i have spawned, still unfinished imo, need to make text more visible and metal more similar to one on site.

I guess its a personal preference. And the banner, imho, it is good that it does catch the eye a bit and is not completely same as the rest.
Also, the font is just a normal font with layer effects with fill at 0%, and please, explain the black box thingy?

well it's incomplete the black box is the place where im adding some bits to make it look like the site metal, hpefully, I'm really digging the idea of a metal background with some text, will make some thing more among those lines, and Im not really aiming for clean, want something that challenges the eye

Also a note on the effects, the flame and lightning are built sepparetly and the flame effect has over 20 layers, was a pain to get right

A banner is supposed to create a resemblance of the guild and website, logo and brand should always be what's visible. Small text tucked away somewhere is not the way it goes. Text > Background in banners and logotypes.

On the other hand, I like your latest one Narugold. The outer frame doesn't really fit in my opinion, one is good enough. The text is a bit hard to comprehend though which as said is not that good, never should a visitor have to focus to read what it actually says. But since it's not finished, I'll just wait and see what you come up with.

I would appreciate criticism on my banner as well, by OP as well as from you guys.
