GitHub - 13413j1j13j5315n13/FollowerV2: A follower plugin for Queuete's ExileApi (PoeHUD) ---> Troubleshoot ---> Point 4
I have 6 accounts
All are level 100
And there is no ban
Seeing that quite many struggle with setting up client/server communication and I guess the majority of use cases are leader running natively + followers inside VMs on the same machine I tried to implement local file as a communication protocol between leader and followers. So:
Follower V1.5 released.
Changes since v1.4:
- Communication between leader and followers can be done through the local file. For instructions please check GitHub - 13413j1j13j5315n13/FollowerV2: A follower plugin for Queuete's ExileApi (PoeHUD)
Please let me know if you have any issues.
This change prevents me from using network
I got it wrong
+ Was reset to localhost

Is there a way to Use VM's without getting banned? Last time i did it all my accounts on VM got banned. I then wrote them some emails and shit and they eventually got unlocked.
Hello GGG Support,
i was curious about using VMWare for running more PoE Clients. I found a really old statement on reddit saying its allowed:
"A player may not run more than two copies of Path of Exile on the same computer. They may use multiple computer (or virtual machines, begrudgingly, because we can't really stop that) to run the extra clients.
There is no problem with loading six copies of the game (across multiple computers) into the same area for some reason, as long as they are not controlled by the same set of inputs.
There's no restriction on the number of connections from the same IP."
[Discussion] GGG, can we get some transparency related to the change limiting the number of clients allowed? : pathofexile
I was just wondering if thats the current state of mind at GGG Headquarter. I dont want to use any sort of Multiboxing software / controlling multiple by one input.
I will controll them all by myself, basically just having more clients open.
Is using VMs still allowed or not?
They Awnsered me this:
Thank you for contacting Support.
The statement from Chris in the post you have linked is still the current policy with regards to virtual machines. A player may not run more than two copies of Path of Exile on the same computer. You may use multiple computers to run these extra clients however each copy of Path of Exile must be manually controlled and no mirroring or automation is allowed.
If you have any questions or if there is anything else we can assist you with please let us know.
Then they still banned me but after some mails they unlocked them again. So i am pretty shure the users in this topic got banned for the VM's not the plugin but obv not shure.
Well, I can say that I've leveled about 10 chars with this Follower plugin to check how they work with each other and did not care that much about about VMs. I was running some chars natively, then in VMs when it was needed, then natively again etc.
In Eve Online running the game in VMs is forbidden and in game's botting community they suggest changing the name of your video card in VM (e.g. Macro Laboratory | VMWare Detection - Macrolab Forums | EVE Pilot - Mining, Hunting, Trade Bot for EVE Online ) but I think that even with a fake video card it might be possible for GGG to detect whether you're running natively or in the VM. On the other hand Eve Online is not a small game neither and just changing the video card name looks sufficient to not get a ban. So I don't know. At least I always change the name, maybe a habit
I think they don't take your IP into consideration at all.
There must be other reason you got a ban. You have to tell how you've been running in VMs. Was the game on shared folder? Did you run the game as limited user? Something else?
Ah it was in Deli, basically i just used a VM and the blackscreen option from the PoEmodding tool or whatever it was called. Did all the inputs on my own but didnt use any program to hide my IP. Also i have to note that all my acc were named xxxx1 xxxx2 xxxx3 xxxx4 ... so yeahprolly wasnt the best names to choose.
I was running two followers and 1 leader, all native on three separate computers. Game installed normally, run under limited user account, only using HUD and follower plugin. Of the three accounts, the one that got banned was the newest with no purchases and only about a week old.
