Prevent detection

Could someone/people message me and explain how to prevent poehud being detected please?

Not using it would be the only guaranteed way to prevent detection.

Ha, that would make sense. Was hoping there were methods to avoid detection. My understanding though is that providing I don't let anyone see me use it, they won't know because it doesn't write to memory. Correct me if I'm wrong though as I'm new to this so may be completely wrong.

It's possible for them to see any application that has an open process handle to the game, which PoeHUD requires in order to read memory. It is a very technically noisy application, so the best advice is really just not to use it on any account you can't risk losing.

That said, bans for using it have been pretty infrequent.

Ah I see. I appreciate the advice. I only really play on my main so no use. Will have to decide on what I want. Also, really liking this site/community and I'm a CS undergrad so was thinking about maybe contributing but wouldn't really know where to start here. Any pointers on where to look or learn etc?

Taking a look at the PoeHUD source and trying to understand how it works, and how it gets information from the game, is probably a good start. If you're looking at the Path of Exile community, specifically, that is.
