Use all 3 options with "ZERO" if you want to remove the skill animations.

Zero are some kind of extreme options.
Use them only if you want to remove most of the effects.

It's impossible not to work...you are doing something really wrong there....
Maybe you are opening another content.ggpk and you have the game in other place like disk D:\

1-I download the tool from the link.
2-I extract it in my downloads folder.
3-I launch PoeSmoother from there and then i click on Content.ggpk.
4-I wait for the tool to start and then i check the zero effect/particles boxes.
5-I open steam and launch poe through then.
6-When the game opens i still have the environnement effect (rain) and all the other stuff.

And i'm telling you that you have the game installed in 2 places,...check what Content.ggpk you open, maybe is not the right one.
Other explanation can't be...

This is the first path where the tool checks for the content: C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile

well, after 2.6 poe update i cant disable skill animations on at least 70% skills. for example i have no animation for endurance cry, but most of curses have their animation, and skills like molten strike or molten shield or hatred or riposte or herald of ash or lacerate have their animations. some skills like wildstrike have improved animations. i have 3 zero options checked on a new content.ggpk...

Yes you're right i just found a ggg game folder but the poe in it is just installed not patched, i'll delete it and then try again ty

It is like this for more than 3 months...since 2.4 patch.
Skills have only the skin mesh left, no other effects/particles or sounds if you check Zero Effects.

But if you want to goo deeper and remove even the skins,..that's another setup.

Ty so much vmv it worked <3, i actually changed the path from the one you told me was default into steam>steamapps>common>path of exile>content.ggpk

maybe i was blind one week ago, but only my character, monsters and items were visible. there wasn't any animations, any status ailments, any lags. i had stable fps in any situation, now my fps is twice as big as fps a week ago, but during boss fights fps drops to 0. i am at loss. what can hapenned with this game just in a week? anyway, thank you very much for your answer and for the soft, with poe smoother game is running much better.
