    Just a bug, dont know whether it's true for others:
    there are some 'fake monsters' on the map after using 'disable particle' effects, fake mobs are like either in full HP or 0 HP, opening their arms (very funny and fixed posture for them).     I'm not sure what can cause this, but i found that strange mobs that are like some sort of statue, on a clean client...and also there were reports from legit players of seeing this.

    If you have spare time to test w/o checking: zeroParticles/removePartEffects/deleteDeadBodies....to see if there are this strange encounters anymore.
    I will try myself when i have a bit of time for this.

    I used (clean client + removePartEffects only) and (clean client + ZeroPartEffects only), both of them caused the strange mobs appeared. The strange mobs appeared more often as perandus mobs when the option 'remove perandus effects and remove labyrinth effects' are on. Great thanks for debugging, did you encounter the similar issue?

    EDIT: sounds like on reddit, someone posted a video about the 'Mob Spwan Bug' (yeah but dont know whether the author is legit)

    hm i prefered partly the old UI, since it gave more fine control when it comes to eg. particle effect. Now, all particle effects are either on or off, older versions allowed to chose eg. gore ok, but no ground and vaal area effects. thats not a big deal though, since the unwanted ones can just be deleted from config i guess.
    what effects are removed form strongboxes? (just saw a subfolder there, is this stuff like CE or firestorm casting boxes? )
    havent tried the new version yet, just browsing the config folder. did you forgot tar or is it just renamed/moved? Cant find those under groundeffects.

    p.s: anyone knows, where the windy sound from arctic armor is hidden in the content.ggpk?

    Hi everyone. I'm sort of... computer challenged. I was wondering if anyone could point me out how to remove particles from firetrap. My friend is playing summoner with fire trap minions and it gets SOOO insanely laggy for me and I don't wanna stop playing with him. Everything is great with the latest update, but that one.


    Anyone knows how to do that? I read the first post but i'm kinda lost :S

    Yes it was good for fine tuning but with addition of the lab the tool became really crowded...so it was eider to group them in various effects or put them all together..so i decided to move them all in one place. But as you already know, you can delete whatever you don't need or move them into a custom option.

    The windy sound from arctic is already added to the sound effects area. (config\SoundEffects\removeEffects\Metadata\Effects\Spells\frozen_barrier...)

    All traps are located in a trap directory,...Metadata/effects/spells/traps - Metadata/particles/traps...

    Extract the directory "Traps" from Metadata/Effects/Spells/, to config\SkillEffects\Other Skills\restoreDefault.
    Delete the directory that you don't need...like bear_trap or gas_trap.
    Copy the directory with what's left from restoreDefault...to config\SkillEffects\Other Skills\removeEffects (you must copy it into the exact same location as restoreDefault have it).
    Open all .aoc files from fire_trap directory(i saw only one there) and delete everything but this

    After this , the fire trap is completely disabled.

    Second path is for fine tuning, Metadata/Particles/Traps.This is for fine tuning of effects, but if you choose first option, this is meaningless, because all commands to activate this particles are already deleted with the first option.
    If you don't want to remove the effects entirely, then to the same as described at first step, and delete the effects from all .pet files (replace with 0).

    Ofc, you can choose both options.
    First try is the hardest one, but after that, everything it's easy as drinking water.

    Feel free to ask if you have anymore problems.

    I will do the traps this days for sure, looks like they are wanted to be disabled ...

    I noticed some things that I'm not sure were supposed to be this way so I'm just gonna report them anyway, if it's intended behaviour just ignore it.

    Chilled ground is barely visible, you can only see the "sparkling" from the ice but it's hard to see.
    The glow on perandus mobs only shows up sometimes and other times it will keep turning on and off, pretty weird.
    Shattered mobs disappear instead of shattering, this one I don't mind at all and it's a good idea.
    Mobs spawned from strongboxes don't have the white circle around them so it's hard to differentiate which mobs are spawned from boxes and which ones aren't.
    The "disable mtx" options don't work at all.
    The "old UI" option doesn't work, gives me an error, something about dictionary or something. I have to replace the UI manually with the "Replace".

    you can enable the original chilled ground by removing the ice folder from "config\ParticleEffects\removeEffects\Metadata\Effects\Spells\ground_effects \" and/or
    "config\ParticleEffects\removeEffects\Metadata\Particles\ground_effects\" . at least for arctic armor trails, the first one is sufficient.

    about the other stuff, did you try it on an original ggpk file or an maybe already modified by older smoother version?
    i enabled only parts of the particle options, but fully perandus options. encountered no strange stuff on perandus mobs so far.

    Chilled ground has a problem...to disable laggy effects from a skill like arctic breath or icestorm, i had to remove the ground effect that was causing lag. So i had to replace the effect with something else from ice/cold effects, specially for ground, and this are the results. But, ice ground not being that dangerous, and if you stand in it you can instantly see effects on your char, a barely visible effect, i think it was a good choice, instead of the lag.

    The glow on perandus mobs, is how it is working, but the original one being sooo glowyyy, you cannot see it. I didn't do anything else then remove some parts of the glowing effect.

    With the strongboxes, i might be wrong there and you can actually delete this directory completely, don't think they have any impact on tha lag. The lag was caused by something else, that i figured it out later on, and forgot to retest without this settings.

    Mtx is working fine, but you will see some of the effects still there, do the how the mtx effects are spread to many folders.

    Also, tho globe girls should work just by checking the checkbox. You should check if you have all the files downloaded.

    is it with maintainable effort possible to let PoeSoother check, if the shipped default data in config folder match the current ggpk default?
    (as option, user need to confirm that the ggpk is untouched yet)
    That would elminiate possible inconsistencies between current ggpk and possible outdated default config data.

    (eg noticed that GGG changed some stuff related to tar in ggpk, that didnt match the config originals from some older smoother versions anymore)

    In theory it should be possible to have a check or synchronization between the files used by the tool and the content.ggpk to see if something has changed.
    But programming this, i really don't know how to do that.

    Anyway, the structure of the game files hasn't changed much even by comparing the first version of the tool with the actual version.
    If there are any changes, that would be additions of new files, and if something is really missing or has a changed name/position...the tool would notify an error.

    In order to avoid this, i have removed the hard-coded part of the tool and just created folders, that are way easy to maintain even if GGG are bringing major changes to the game.

    The most easy way to enable/disable some effects right now, if you don't remember what options have you changed a version ago, is to check/uncheck the boxes, and this will replace the files with the new one from any new version.

    Hello vmv,

    I'd like to know how would I disable all monster sounds? I'm a vacuum build and I generally have 80-200 mobs behind me being constantly knocked back. I believe the sound is causing me to lag which is lame. If there's any way I can just arbitrarily disable all the monster sounds, let me know. I do not want to go through each and every single monster

    hey there! i have a request, can you make the life and mana currently being recovered from flask or leech more visible? its currently pretty much unnoticeable because its too transparent!

    even make it a different colour all together would solve the issue, thanks!

    I didn't found any practical method to disable all sounds, even if i wish that too.
    But in your case, can't be the knockback impact sound disabled ?

    For such fine refinements, you can try and make your own modifications.
