Noob Question about PoE map

Hi everyone,

I've just joined and feel like a kid with so many questions, but I would greatly appreciate it if you have the time to answer. I recently started playing the game and am already eager to make some modifications.

1.- Does anyone know if there's a way to use an existing API to render the map on an external screen, rather than within the game's overlay? If it has to be an overlay, is there a way to at least move it outside the game window?
2.- Additionally, is there a way to get the character's "x,y" position on a specific map through any available api? I have seen @Sychotix thread "/forums/mmo/path-of-exile/poe-bots-programs/967079-quick-tool-references.html" but I'm not sure if any of those provide any help.
