A review of CK's APB:
I've been running CK's version of APB (henceforth APB) for about two weeks now, so I feel I'm apt to write a review about it. I've tried his/her (for the sake of brevity, I'll refer to CK as a "he") previous versions, but they were unstable compared to Dragonne/TW's version, so I mostly stuck with that one. However, this one is a tad better than all his previous versions, therefore I opted to use it. First things to notice about APB are the auto-login feature, the updated Gecko, multi-toon ability and MASSIVE reduction in CPU usage and memory. I've run 2 toons on my main account, 2 on my alt account and 1 on my wife's account, at the same time, while playing Neverwinter on an old 3.4 Ghz Pentium D (you know, the ACTUAL gen 1 Core Duo) all without a single hiccup or lag in game. The bot's actions are smooth and unnoticeable, for the most part.
However, one of the first things I noticed is that if you setup professions, which has a bit of a learning curve, compared to the previous versions, with a RARE job and the bot doesn't find it, it will go into an endless loop trying to do said job, rather than moving down to the next job in the queue. To me, this is a major problem. I like to snag the Protect Diamonds rare as much as possible, as it garners a good AD bonus, using only a single asset, but APB will waste hours of profession task time, running an endless loop UNTIL it can start the job.
Another annoyance is the fact that APB doesn't ALWAYS use the assets subscribed to a job. There's nothing more irritating than having 12 adventurers and seeing 6 sitting in your inventory, while you're running 6 Leadership jobs. The reason I have 12 is so I can double up on my time completing jobs, not so they're sitting in my inventory, doing nothing. It's not just with greens, blues and purples, either. I was running a mailsmithing job with 1 blue and 3 prospectors, only to have the bot decide to *NOT* use my prospectors. Hey, that 5% time decrease is STILL a decrease, so losing a 15% time decrease, 'cos the bot just doesn't feel like using an asset is unacceptable.
Though this version of APB is great (it really is!), while in game, it's best to avoid the Professions screen, as it seems to interfere with APB, causing encryption errors in Gecko, forcing you to tab out of the game to click 'ok' to get the bot to run again. If you uncheck the box to warn you of an encrypted page, APB (more than likely a feature in Gecko which should be turned off) will do it anyway, with the box checked yet again. No matter how many times you uncheck the bock, it will still warn you. This sucks, if you're AFK and it does it when you're not around, 'cos the bot will just stop.
Setting up job queues is a job all in itself. The 'Repeat List' and 'Repeat X Times' can be a bit confusing to a newcomer and I've noticed that sometimes, the 'Repeat Lists' seems to uncheck itself. If you need to set up multiple slots to do the same queue lists, I suggest you do EACH job for EACH slot, one at a time, so you don't make mistakes. I love how CK setup the Optional Assets, but it's annoying to go through all that trouble, just to have the bot, itself, not use all the assets assigned.
The 'On Work-Hide' button needs to be moved from the Settings tab, down with the 'Start/Stop' buttons, so it's accessible on any Tab. Not a gripe, just better UI layout.
APB *REALLY* needs a delay timer, so it's not constantly pinging the gateway and the professions.txts need to be updated, so we don't have to constantly keep doing it.
I love this version of APB, but there are still some issues with it, that are forcing me back to TW's last (And only) version of APB, until they're resolved. The biggest problem I have right now is the rare job endless loop bug and the fact APB doesn't use all my assets I've assigned. However, Cyreal KIller's version of APB is *FAR* superior to the previous versions, in *ANY* of the incarnations, so once he works the kinks out, it will be an absolute joy to use.
Pros:
-Muliple Toons per session
-Auto Login Feature
-Updated Gecko
-EXTREMELY low CPU and memory usage
Cons:
-Professions Queues a bit hard to set up
-Encrypted page timeouts
-Assets not being used on jobs, when assigned
-Unable to queue rare jobs in profession tasks, without an endless loop if not available
-On Work button needs to be moved to where it's accessible from any tab
-APB needs a delay timer
Overall Average: B-
