The developer of BotOfStone has asked me to take down my project, due to copyright infringement. I'm not going to get into any law issues over a small project like this, and hence I'm taking down the project.

If anyone has the bot and doesn't mind re-uploading it to a hosting site, PM me.

What the hell? Copyright of what? How to inject into memory? It's not rocket science...

    Hankerspace is that true?

Not my fault, BotOfStone has been bought by a company. This company is owning code. So this code can't be shared as "opensource"... Thats just logic...

I'm curious in botting since this is a new game, but since there isn't any card trading, and most likely never will be (soniamdisapoint.jpg), is there any cards to earn in this that can actually make your hs account sell for big bucks? What other reasons to bot is there?...

Accounts full of cards could potentially sell, however the forum-related hype isn't as big as what I expected it would be, for example how little is being talked about it here. Of course with that said you would have to make a separate battle.net with the hearthstone account on it if you plan to sell it. Their patch notes stated a hard cap of 20,000g to combat "certain acquisition strategies that go against ToS". SO, if you can keep hitting 20,000g and then buying a bunch of packs, and get damn near every card, the points are: A. Have a lot of fun with the game personally, or B. Maybe sell it, I mean, I've seen people saying how they buy hundreds of packs, so, I imagine someone may buy it if it in turn saves them money and they had planned to drop $200-300 on packs.

I think the copyright issue is garbage and I don't think they'd pursue you until this became QUITE a big thing.
PLEASE REMEMBER! A simple thanks can mean so much

Yeah if its copyrighted, this company should allow me to get into the site and pay a lame subscription fee to use it. Valuable time is being lost right now..

Ask for proof of copyright because this smells like crap to me.

May be someone else will pick up the project and find out another way to inject, one that would not be copyrighted. I dunno how it is now but when I used to bot in WoW there were some great bots you had to pay for but there also was a few totally free and open source. Most of the people would use paid ones anyway since it wasn't that much $$ and they were much easier to run and configure. Free ones was harder for inexperienced players to deal with so they were used only by people who managed to get them working. Everyone was happy

BTW sorry for offtopic but does anyone knows how the lawsuit from Blizzard against Honorbuddy bot ended?

They arent able to copyright the way the injection works. It was posted before and copyed from an opensource project. The way that is used is pretty straight forward anyway, nothing fancy or secret.

The issue is that HearthstoneBot was using decompiled code from BotOfStone.
As BotOfStone was under All Rights Reserved, this was actually copyright infringement.
Hankerspace did however, not go against this, but as he's sold the project, all rights are now owned by Bossland GmbH.

They (rightfully) asked me, to take down all code, which they own, which rendered HearthstoneBot unusable,
as HearthstoneBot was a clear derivative of BotOfStone, and hence, as most system code was duplicated.

To enable HearthstoneBot to be opensource and distributable once again, one will have to replace all BotOfStone related parts.

Thanks for info Skeen. It's bad that Bossland is following in the footsteps of Blizzard who sued them also for copyright.
I am sure they are reading this so Bossland plase, one thing - don't make it overpriced. It's just TCG and you can only earn 100g per day which is worth like 1.1-1.3 euro.

Will it be hard to find another way to do this without copyright infringement?

so if someone simply use overtures git, which has basicly most of the functionality allready, and adds an polished injector again, the project could resume ?
