Well, single target as bard... at around i233 "last parsed a few weeks ago" I was at about 1.7 to 1.8k, closer to 1.8k, also the 230 anima bow.. This is without food or any DRG buffs ofcourse. In a more realistic fight, and not just a rotation on a static target, my last parse was in a nidhog EX pt, which I think I came out of it at around 1.6.
Based on that, as bard, I would say anywhere between 1.3 and 1.4k is classed as above average and above 1.5k is good "for nidhog", if you're pushing anything higher than 1.7k in nidhog as bard, chances are you have a higher ilvl "the 245 bow" and are in a much better pt in general and getting the kill quicker! Having unison with your DRG buff can really help bump up your DPS so you can time it with well buffed double emp arrors, over an 8-10 min fight this is quite a decent gain or loss if you haven't got it! 2my last parse I had no clue what my drg was doing lol"
As for the adds, save all your buffs for this phase. So fully buff your opener, but hold back till the adds spawn, have your bard a decent amount of MP left also, and cast FOE's + Battle Voice "optional" fully buff as he roars when they spawn, bard should dot up the 1st add, then the 2nd add and keep the 2nd add dotted up until you need to switch to kill him. Then just burst down the 1st add right after your initial dots, you should have a barrage emp and sidewinder ready here, shouldn't be an issue to burn this guy down. Once the 2nd add is being burned you can start to dot the final add _^ then he can be at around 70% when you go to burn him, hoping he doesn't hit 50% before that stage!
As a Bard with i230 and seemingly bad dps, doing a NidEx learning party, I hit like 2000-2700 on the opener and more like 900-1200 average across the phases (including jumps etc.). It really depends on if I successfully deepsed/multidotted or if I dropped my dots and stopped doing dps (forgetting to turn off Wanderer) while dealing with mechanics (baiting fireballs). Or, of course, if I died. The other bard in my party with slightly better gear was hitting like Buy FFXIV Gil 1200-1500 average, similar or less on opener. Their rotations didn't seem any better, but not having to bait fireballs, maintaining their multidots better, using buffs on CD instead of saving them for dps phases, and maybe using raid food/pots (?) helped. Also this was with a DRG in the party who hopefully applied the piercing resistance debuff. His dps was lower than us bards, and the ninja was lower still.
With all that said, we typically had no problem clearing the adds as long as no one died during add phase, and cleared Fang and Claw as long as no one screwed up mechanics (haha...) and we had a limit to use. So either the dps values you're giving are really inflated (opener values? not looking at EncDps?) or you're doing something really wrong. Make sure no one is getting hit by claws (just dodge) or fireballs (use a BRD/MCH/SMN or healer, or even two, to bait).
