For me I'm fairly sure it comes down to drive speedI'm not close to maxing out cpu/ram with the copies that I run, but I do create a separate d3 folder for each version that I run...and well, there's at least 3 on each disk and I'm experiencing a slowdown when too many copies are running.
Edit: Got another quick q - for the VM's, should I be running XPSP3 or Win7? I went with Win7 but in retrospect perhaps XPSP3 would take up less space/cpu/ram? Just a thought, any opinions would be welcome!
Does anyone know how to get 1600x900 resolution on the workstation? As of right now when I go to the screen resolution selection screen 1600x900 is not showing up just a lot of other choices. Running Windows 7.
Can someone please help.
I am trying to get 2 clients running inside one VM using vmware.
I can do this fine on the host ( and it allows me to use one of the ZK scripts) but I can only open one client inside the vm. The second client in the vm still detects there is another one running and closes after the Diablo face thing. I have made two seperate client folders and have added -launch to both shortcuts.
Could someone please tell me how to do this?
Cheers
I do this but I have a dual monitor/keyboard/mouse setup. I have a dedicated mouse/keyboard I use for the bot and I use another mouse/keyboard on my VM for manually playing the game, browsing or w/e. I tried it the other way around but the bot runs too sluggish in VM. Also because I use Ares, I have to have a high resolution for the bot. This way when I'm playing D3 on the VM, I can lower the resolution and the switch to full screen and the game is actually playable. GL.Is there any way I can bot on my main computer while browsing on the workstation? I tried this but moving my mouse messed up the bot's actions. Please let me know what I am doing wrong, thanks

my virtual machine is still moving the mouse very slowly. I put more RAM ( 2Go )
but the mouse is very slow, so each action take 3-4 times more than normal.
do you have an idea to resolve that ?
Ok, i put 2 cores instead of one... it's good now
Trying to figure out why my bot isn't finding the PNG's. Any help through teamviewer is greatly appreciated. Pm me for that and thanks in advance
So my VMware lags ALL TO HELL when I try to run Diablo 3 on it.
My computer is very good (i7 2600k OC'd 40%, 8GB RAM, A very good/fast SSD, blah blah blah) and I'm running the the graphic as low as possible and have tried tons of resolutions.
I have tried 2 cores / 4GB RAM to the VM and it still lags, I even tried to give it 4 cores and 6GB (the cpu is 8 cores, hyperthreaded) and it still lagged out. It seems to only lag every few seconds, like it will be kind of smooth for 5 seconds then freeze for 2 seconds. It also loads zones much, much slower (into the cellar, into a new game, etc).
Can anyone think of any possible reasons this may be happening?
Thanks for the help!
This helped me out quite a bit, was running two VMs and they were lagging enough that the scripts were screwing up. As soon as i disabled cd/floppy/sound/printer they both worked great(still some minor lag but nothing that messed anything up). Going to try adding a third tonight.
