probably the 2700k
some people say i7 2700k is not as good to overclock as 2600k, because 2600k can easily reach 5ghz, from what i read
2500K is superior when it comes to gaming in every way, because if you want to overclock the i7 series, you are gonna have to disabled HT anyway, and HT is the only difference between the i5 and the i7.
So get the 2500K and save yourself a lot of money, and benefit from the fact that they are much better at overclocking than i7.
Super Unicum
Hard to say when you don't tell us how many bots you want to run.
care to share settings of the clients you run? I run a 1920x1080 windowed auto-it sarkoth bot on VMware and play 1920x1080 windowed at the same time and that seems to get a little laggy sometimes with my i5 2500k. I'm thinking about getting a couple more accounts and finding a script that runs on 800x600 to help alleviate the lag
Depends on resolution/fps/ram/cpu/bot.
Was running 4x DB and 2x HB, almost maxed out my i5 2500k 4.5ghz.
Time tells no lies.
are u basing ur pc build on d3 botting?........ooookkkk i7
i7 2600k and why overclock?? you wont need an overclock![]()
If you wanna run max clients on single PC then every bit of performance helps, and that is where i5 will beat the 2600K hands down, 2600K has NOTHING over a 2500K except HyperThreading, and that is useless anyway (except in synthetic benchmarks, which dont matter in real situations).

.........incorrect
Botting several instances of a game cannot be compared to normal gaming. I am pretty sure that botters are capable of making good use of HT because we run several instances of the game, unlike normal gaming where you seldom gain anything from HT.
I got a 2600k in my machine and it OC fine with HT, currently sitting at 4.3 GHz, not the biggest OC but still ok.
