Really interesting article not just on D3 but the comments around subscriptions and how companies are looking to make money from alternative avenues.
Was really freaked reading about the gold farmer handling 100 accounts. That sounds like too much work even if he as making $90 an hour.

I bot 20 and it's pretty easy. Worse case for him is he makes $7.5-8k each week. I could think of worse ways to make much less. I only pull in around $2k + - gold price. Mine run 24/7. Only maintenance is moving the gold to sell . Well worth the hour it takes. Hate to break it to you but I have been doing this stuff long before d3. Rmah just allowed scrubs to easily sell things. Even without it, people would still buy and sell things and cheat in order to make money. I work a regular full time job and do this for fun. Hard to say its not worth the effort when you mortgage gets payed for the entire year by selling some virtual currency that some ritch kid is too lazy to farm himself. Hell this allowed me to launch my second business. Can't wait for gw2.

It still blows my mind how much money can be made on virtual goods. Diablo 3 really brought this fact to light for people who actually play legit. They saw dollar signs when they got a good drop. I am still unsure if the Rmah was a good move or not. I guess we will have to see what effect this has on upcoming games. I hope they don't follow blizz lead on this one.

When you get all20 banned what do you do?Buy new and they get banned? So you just waste all your money on buying new accounts?

It is called a known loss but the profit margin is still way in the black. So what was the point of your post?

Hmm 90 an hour... Only prople msking more than that are some business owners, lawyers, doctors and exectutive staff for major companies. If i had the capital to run that i would in a heartbeat

I got started by buying 5 and botting them till they were paid off and making a profit. From there you use the profit to buy more accounts. Rinse and repeat untill you are happy.

As far as having my accounts banned, I could care less. I make $2k a week. In most games I would just buy more and keep going. In this one, I will be done once they get banned. I just don't see a future in this one. Especially with new games and expansions coming out in the next few months.

wouldn't really kid yourself (not you specifically) with the $90/hr figure. You can't use the first 2 months of D3 release as a run rate comparison to a career. You don't run the risk of getting banned every day at a job.... usually
