Pretty sure the patch notes says that IAS fixes will be fixed and the legendary BUFFS are new drops only. Broken items should be fixed, not left in the game. That's how I read it anyway. Either way IAS nerf is coming, gg.

One way or another yes... I hate that they **** with everything in the game RIGHT after you spend a week farming for a specific stat that you favor over others. Here's to hoping AS builds aren't totally gimp now. I give up huge (350-400k) crits with slow attack speed for medium/low crits and fast attack speed, that's my preference, so baffled as to why this needs to be nerfed. I prefer this build on my wizard AND my DH (both 60 and top end geared). My DH has 94k dmg (pre-sharpshooter, 166k with ss) with 2.34AS, 37% base crit, ONLY 240% Crit dmg, 55k HP, and 322 RES all. I love the hatred regen from fast attacks and I give up ~100-120 crit dmg % on my gear for it, however talk of IAS nerf has me worried to say the least.

I particularly like the part where they say "Many players have commented that Increased Attack Speed is such a dominant stat they feel it’s required" NO SHIT? with things like life leech, life on hit, hatred regen, stuns, slows, etc; when has IAS NOT been needed in any rpg? More attacks = more of the bonus abilities that apply per hit, seriously... this dev team blows!

While we don’t have an issue with there being important stats, Increased Attack Speed in particular has secondary effects on mobility in combat, resource generation and resource consumption. We want there to be options and considerations for how you gear up, and one uber trump-everything stat can really work against choice and options.
There are two different solutions we’re considering to reduce the effectiveness of Increased Attack Speed. The first is to simply reduce the value on all the items to their desired values. In general our desire is to never change items as that makes them feel less concrete, but the upside is you would still be able to look at an item and know exactly what you are getting. The other approach is to change the formula used for attack speed aggregation so that stacking attack speed from multiple slots suffers from diminishing returns. The downside of that approach is that it introduces yet another hidden modifier on an item property (and many people dislike hidden modifiers), and complicates the already difficult decision of item gearing.
We’re currently leaning toward the first solution, to simply reduce the value on items, but we’d be interested to read people’s thoughts on the problem.

If you haven't noticed with this dev team..Any type of build that has coherence/jive too it will be nerfed. Right about now just about all wizard builds are the same...Yes they may use slightly different variation of skills, but the play style for them is damn near identical.

OP: the patch that went up today is not 1.3. IAS hasnt been changed yet. for now you are fine.

blizzard has also said they are not sure what they are going to change in regards to IAS yet. they said that they will probably just reduce IAS% on items with it. its ok. its all good sir.

if i was you, i'd wait for a bit more information.

Still in limbo on the change right now...I have some gold to spend on my wiz but only picked up the Boj Anglers with int vit. I guess waiting for a bit and farming more gold would be best for now until I figure out how badly attack speed is being changed.

As per the quote above they haven't decided but its looking that either they reduce the amount of IAS you get on each piece of gear or they give you diminishing returns on IAS the more you stack it
