Wrong.
If this site did not exist the exploiting community would 100% be fractured. By you just being here, you are in support of keeping the community alive so you are contradicting yourself. How is 15$ even a lot? You probably spend that much of your mom's money on candy and cookies a week.
Wrong again and also a lot of assumptions here.
Kelz brings up a lot of fair points.
Let me google that for you
Is ownedcore a charity in true sense of the word? No. In any other sense? No. It's a shady business that profits off other people's work. Should you donate anyways, if you find it useful? Sure, but keep some things in mind. You can find any and more exploits all over the interwebz, more so if you are willing to scour various russian. taiwanese, chinese, etc. sites with google translate. Get yourself in an IRC community, a privately owned forum, d2jsp has some stuff, heck even setting up a bot that saves topics from diablofans and official forums and then rechecks for deletion would get you more "exploits" than ownedcore, at least regarding D3 since it's the only thing I'm checking every once in a while. Most exploiting communities are CLOSED and work quid pro quo, meaning that you have to give something in order to get in, and keep giving, trying, contributing with ideas or just by being available (some things require extensive testing). This site is open for a reason (to get people here) and the so called "elite" section is closed for a reason. Kelz said it well, it's gambling. It creates an illusion that "elite" section is actually worth it, that there maybe is at least one magical exploit that will get you going. Short answer? No.
That's all well and good, but.. what should make you donate? I mean, all hosting/domain costs are AT LEAST covered by the advertising, and it's not like this type of project requires full time work.
Simple, it's dedication, manners, good faith and overall good management. You donate because shady people are taken care of, you donate because admins/mods are friendly and always available to help you, you donate because you enjoy being here, you enjoy how they nurture this community and push it forward, you donate since you want to give something back because let's face it - 15$ is not a lot of money, especially spread out over 3 months.
So why won't you donate? Because this site is nothing of the sort. I'd rather burn that money than give it to the people running this, or - here's an idea! - give it to an ACTUAL GODDAMN CHARITY.

Basically on the point of being closed, if anyone here think they'll see a "real" exploit, they won't. Nobody is stupid enough to post a real important exploit there, because it would get hotfixed the same night.
It can happen, rarely, but real exploits are kept to more closed circles. Thinking the elite section is enough to be away from blizz is largely (like, very largely) underestimating them.
About donations I'd say if you want to give money to someone give it to people finding exploits/developing hacks/bots/whatever you use.
Come on, we all know what "donation" means. We are buying something, they are just lying to lawfully protect themselves to avoid taxes and such
If a company is trying to mess with the government by avoiding tax, didn't it occur to you that the government may not be the only one they are messing with? This sort of behavior is a sign (among tons on others in our case) of dishonesty.
Oh and for the "contradicting yourself" part, I actually mentionned it in my big previous post but, basically the idea is that I came here because I had a cool bot to share with people. I hate to participate in making greedy people even more rich, but it's not the user's faults.
So these last days I have enabled XX (or XXX more probably) people to use a D3 bot for manglemaw. This has probably helped the admins of this website to give money, which is something I don't like, but it's the easiest place to share my bot. Doesn't change anything to the fact that this place is run by greedy admins.
Also note that time has passed, and I'm not really interested in these stories anymore. I just came for RoS release, and probably won't come back for a long time. Finding this thread just made me want to throw a big explanation to people before going because it feels just wrong to let people believe all this "donation" bullshit.
I mean they could simply accept that they are a business and act like so, be honest with it and just sell stuff. But they are playing the "poor little guy hosting the website" card, while trying to rip money off any way the can. The post at page 2 of the guy interacting with admins for a subscription problem is just an enormous proof of their ****ed up view. btw, $15 minimum donation with 3 month subscription? Who does that? The only reason is that much people would stop after a month.
Also side note: My first subscription here was also to "help the admins". Then I grew up and realized most (but not all) websites doing this are bullshitting you and making profit of your naivety
Peace

I've been a member for a very long time here, don't contribute much but I def read. I've had some of the best times playing games because of stuff I've learned from this site. Don't donate to get access to elite because it's not that great, however you should to help keep this place running and support the community.

Over my idk 7 years now? I've seen a hefty amount of amazing and gamebreaking exploits on these forums.
As a donator you won't most likely get an insane exploit right after donating, but overtime good ones will pop up and ofcourse they will be released to the public, but you'll have a few days of using them compared to a few hours typically.

Exactly this. I wish some people would understand things like the 'Arrow Dupe' or Maraudon Quest Item only show up here first.

No.. you can get to elite by CONTRIBUTING aswell.. you decided to save time and donate instead of contributing. I will never donate for elite i will donate because of all the stuff this website has already given me and i want to give back, Elite is just a bonus.
Question: Y u no donate????
Answer: I'm building a pc will donate soon
I rarely check Ownedcore nowadays. Need to contact me? Message me on Discord: dovvah

Every time I have donated.. I have been severely disappointed. You can find the same stuff on other forums for free a majority of the time.

I'll be completely honest, if you're donating strictly to get exploits before others, then you should decide to donate right at launch. As everyone should notice, the amount of things to exploit slowly dwindles over time as blizzard patches and hotfixes everything pretty much every week. So if you do decide to donate now, don't expect to see 5 brand new things to abuse that no one else knows. However, if there is a new exploit found, just be happy to know it'll most likely be in the elite section before anywhere else.

This, mostly. There are also some gems that pop up. I would assume that most Elite members got way more runway out of the Great Weapon AFK farm than most other people.

Do you get access to the Elite Section by a Subscription of 5 Dollars/month or only via the 15 dollar Donation?

What do you mean you have been disappointed???? That doesn't even make sense... You donate to support the site not just gain access to certain sections. If you are disappointed in what the site is putting out then you should probably look back at old posts and really see what u were and/or are missing out on. Because unless you are just trying to get access to certain forums and never really contribute through money or posting, then i don't think you really belong on ownedcore...

1. To answer your first question: he did not get what he expected, simple as that.
2. Who are you to tell him WHY he donates? If he wants to donate to gain access, so be it?
3. "Belong on ownedcore"? Not everyone has enough money to spend on websites that are free, and not everyone finds exploits by themselves. This doesn't mean that ownedcore is not for them.
I'm only guessing here, but I'm sure he is just a regular gamer who enjoys exploits and he was hoping for some nice exploits from the elite section, he was disapointed and he simply stated it in a thread that asked if it is worth donating.

Not everyone finds exploits but does that mean you cannot get higher ranks? I havent found a SINGLE exploit which hasnt been posted before, still I got over 200rep. By helping people of the community can get you a looong way.
