Note to the author: You can actually fully decode the items since you have the seed in the item link.

Probably not worth the trouble at this point since the unID trade has pretty much collapsed and I expect Blizz to fix this gaping hole asap given the visibility it has been getting.

Now the question is whether Blizz will fix this the quick way by fixing item links to not contain this info, or whether they will fix the core of the problem.

Nope, use the Python method from the original thread.

Press Delete (forward, as if you wanted to delete the item), not Backspace. Try pressing it once again - sometimes it takes 3 keystrokes.

Could someone tell me step by step what i'm doing wrong?

I load d3, go in game to get my item code with the symbol and del/del. I get it then copy out of message log

Then i'm supposed to leave the game and click on the auction house THEN i paste it into the program bar + hit unid and it does nothing.

What am i doing wrong?

I tried it in game just to see and it said "go to the auction house"

edit: How do you click on an unid item while at the auction house? It won't let me they're all red'd out

You have to use the DELETE key not backspace

paste the code here, then copy and paste the output into the gamechat and you will get the full stats, including a clickable item tooltip, link it to your friends!

Please then, tell me why you would want to know the stats of an item by using this long workaround method when all you have to do is simply right click the item?

I'm using it because it's quicker than to wait for the 3 second identify cast, and to spread the word that it isnt just the amount of affixes that can be found.

it's also very refreshing to save the good items and "identify" a whole stash of good items in one go!
