First Post: Question about scripts etc

Hey guys. Been reading this forum for a while and I was just interested and curious about all this "script" stuff. Where do I put this coding in? Do I have to download a separate client to put the auto script in? What are the chances of getting banned and how safe is it? These are probably noob ass questions but I figured today was the day I asked ownedcore. Just need a 101 on scripting, inputting the script into a client and minimizing risk.

Most of the scripts are based around the program AutoIt. You can DL it at: AutoItScript - AutoItScript Website Another that is used is AutoHotkey, which you can search and find that easily too. As far as the code, after you install whichever script program you're using it for, just right click on desktop/windows explorer and go to New, there should now be an option to create a new script file. After that just right click the new file and select edit script and paste the code in. Run it just like you would a normal .exe to start the script.

Its hard to say the chances of getting banned. Scripts are very easy to detect as they don't hide their processes. It also makes whatever you are doing with it seem very non-human. (People like to put some rng timers but really, the bulk of what is being done is very obviously a program and not a player. On the other hand, bans haven't really started, atleast in heavy numbers, for people using scripts and bots, but that doesn't mean that when/if they do a ban wave that all the scripters won't get tagged with it.

There are several boting programs that have a scripting functionality on them, hellbuddy and d3tnt I have used and are good (allthough hell buddy had a lot of users caught in the recent banwave). But if your just in for scripting yourself d3Advanced I hear is very good and reasonably safe haven't heard as much from that community about the banwave.

Most of the scripts here are either AutoIT scripts or AutoHotkey script. Googling both of these words will lead you to the sites of the makers of these programs.
The scripts you find here are to be pasted in an .AHK file for autohotkey or in .AU file for AutoIT.

Chances of geting banned depend on the script you use. If it uses randomized timers and a little bit of randomized coordinates to click it is pretty safe, but you can not ever guarantee that blizzard want detect it and ban youi for it.

If you really want to know how to use these scripts, it is really simple. I'd say go and grab yourself the AHK / AutoIT quickstart guide and follow the steps. The best thing to do to learn how to use this kind of thing is just to try it out a little.

    Have fun!

This. Once you understand how the scripts work, you can start to do all sorts of things with it, even outside of just Diablo. I first discovered autoit when automating the crafting process in Star Wars Galaxies for profession grinding and have used it for a lot of games since.
