Not trying to ride on anybody, but this situation is relevant to one of my transactions that i dealt with months back with WoW. The seller was the actual admin of the forum and stated that his account was locked. It was a week later when everything cleared up and all his customers got their money back. I know we deal with a lot of scammers, but i believe hes not scamming you.

Not relevant at all. For one, he's not the admin of this website, so there's a difference between the degrees of confidence afforded to him. Second and most importantly, he's the buyer, not the seller. You think our gold will be refunded? Not likely. He said himself that he was working as a middle man.

I really hope we aren't getting scammed, but from my phone calls with Paypal, the fact that this issue can be resolved in a matter of minutes and it has been hours makes me extremely suspicious. I will definitely update when results (or the lack thereof) come in.

Paypal is not at legally alowed to tell you what he need to do to fix the problem. So there is no way to know how long it will to fix the problem.

Sure, but even so, the Paypal employee stated that the problem could be resolved in minutes. He deals with these issues all the time and he knows when it can be resolved in minutes or days. Sorry, but I'm going to believe the Paypal employee on this one.

Now THAT is the wrong thing to do. Sigh. Paypal will definitely get suspicious.

Here's the truth about what's going on here. We're conducting unsupported transactions (intangible goods). Note, this is a TRANSACTION, and thus gifting is not the right way to pay. Paypal makes money on transactions, so if they see someone sending "gifts" to a bunch of people, they get suspicious.

The email I received said that the seller is represented by "J****** W********", presumably his legal guardian. We have "7 days to respond". After that time expires, I don't know what happens. Maybe Paypal returns all the money. Maybe we get shafted. I don't know.

One thing for sure, don't start ****ing around telling Paypal you sold an iphone.

Just spoke with ChaosLegend and Paypal. Paypal ended up closing his account post-appeal for reasons of "security" (calling BS on Paypal). Proof: He showed me the email and his account via skype video. The funds in our transactions (if you have sold gold to Chaoslegend) are currently being held by Paypal, mostly awaiting a reply from the sellers. If the seller does not reply within the given time limit, then the funds get defaulted back to Chaoslegend. The other two options are to refund the money back to ChaosLegend now or push the transactions into review where there is a "very high chance" that the review will end in reversing the transactions (again, money back to Chaoslegend) because there's no tracking number or such. I know these aren't really options - it's like choosing between shooting yourself now versus shooting yourself a week from now, but it is what it is from what the Paypal employee stated.

If the money eventually gets reversed back to Chaoslegend, it may still very well take up to 180 days before funds become available for him to transfer back to us because his account has been closed. (This is the release timeframe for closed accounts per Paypal policy).

Chaoslegend has stated that he will get everyone their money once everything gets resolved, but I suggest each one of you keep in touch with him yourselves.

TL;DR Paypal is dumb. Chaoslegend didn't do anything wrong, but more than likely he will have our funds, which we will need to request post 180 days. (Will definitely give all the rep to Chaoslegend when everything gets resolved).

I didn't tell PayPal.They just ask me about selling it (that's why I curious what's happend)
I told them I sold virtual goods. They also ask for some documents of goods which I don't understand (my poor listening skill).

So if I understand this correctly, Chaoslegend was bypassing the fee of the transaction because of the method of payment and therefor Paypal got upset, advised him of unsupported transactions and closed his account. Makes logical sense, but still doesn't explain as to why Paypal informed us when calling them that it was a simple fix and all he needed to do was call them to fix the issue.

Chaoslegend, just send me $50.00 that was held from your business account in good faith and when the issue gets resolved, I'll be sure you send it back.

    Thanks,

Paypal informed me that there is a very good chance the funds will be reverted back to his account if the issue isn't resolved on his end... "being able to verify his identity" -- which ends in about 12-13 more days. That's all this is about and Paypal even said it's as easy as calling them, which hasn't been done. So this is a definite loss on our part. He hasn't signed onto Skype, he still plays his account. It's obvious we got ****ed over and the dude is not yet banned? Interesting... If I'm wrong, then prove it. Send the damn funds from your business account to my Paypal and I will refund the money if it ever gets resolved and if it doesn't -- you still paid for the transaction I provided. Enough said.

    Thanks,
    beck3210
