I'm having problem experiencing the same effects as your graph shows. My DH currently has 275% (which i think is almost max for DH cuz the weapons does not have any mf). I've been running the bot for about 20 hours now and my rares drop rates is like 4-5%, nowhere near the 30-35% it should have according to your graphs. Am i doing anything wrong? Any suggestion on this or did they nerfed the dank celler magic find??

LATM, you inspired me. So I decided to purchase similar gear and I'm at 250%+ in MF and GF. My only issue is having the right script. I'm a Demon Hunter and I'm at 13k dps. When will you be releasing the 800x600 version? I remember reading 2 days ago that we could expect it soon. If so, I can't wait!

Dawg, I don't think anybody is disputing your method works (I haven't actually seen anybody say that it doesn't) so you don't need to take any of the queries as a personal attack. To be perfectly clear - I damn well agree with you that botting at 300gf/300mf beats out botting with...any lower combination any day of the week

For everybody else, the question of whether it is consistently better (for those starting now-ish, not 21 days ago when IGG was worth something) as an optimal investment allocation, that I don't know - again I'm considering total rate of risk-adjusted return, not whether botting with mf works. I think it's an undeniable fact that botting with gf works, with mf works, with gf/mf works so we can consider the following on a pure theoretical basis eh :P

Suppose you had a box that could run 10 bots, and it would cost 100mil to outfit each bot with 300/300 gear similar to what you have (I'm probably underestimating this by a fair bit) and 10mil to outfit each bot with 250gf/100mf and suppose you can buy gold at $1 = 1mil, today. Would it make sense to spend $1000 buying the gold to outfit 10 chars with 300gf/300mf or spend $100 to outfit 10 chars with 250gf/100mf? Or scaling it out, $10k vs $1k? Or more?

The rate of godly items, as LATM has posted from personal experience, can certainly be higher with the higher mf, but I look at the numbers (and my personal rate of finding 0 so far $10M+ items out of ...well a loooot of rares bc I have a lot of chars) and think it comes down to a good amount of luck. Even with 10 chars running 24/7, the number of money ($10m+) rares you actually pick up in the end are subject to a degree of variance that would require a pretty big sample size to normalize. To be clear, do you make more money at 300/300 than 250/100? The answer should be obvious. Do you make sufficient additional money to outweigh what you spent to acquire the gear, balanced out by the risks? Well that depends on your personal risk tolerance.

When it comes down to it, I'm not comfortable with a long investment horizon (how long to make back $1k vs $100) because sarkoth can be fixed, auto-it can be banned, gold market could tank quite a bit more, etc. etc. and while it's possible (and you have already) made back 10-fold the investment via gf/mf=300, it's also possible (I wish I could say I have - I haven't but it's not far off) made back the same 10x return via gf/mf = 250/100 :P And in the meantime not worry too much about losing $1k overnight bc all your bots got banned or something. In the end, I got just 3 words for everybody to consider: Risk-Adjusted Return. 'Nuff said.

P.S. I'm working on a getting a single char up to the 300/300 stats, it's immensely slow going though hehe.
P.P.S. How much are you guys all spending in IGG to get close to 300/300 stats?! Just curious b/c I'm fairly sure my 100m estimate is conservative :P

with hyper inflation, 100mil isn't enough to get 300/300. i've tried...

I got up to 260/260 atm, without actually using the weapon. At 27k unbuffed dps atm.
Already had a GF set, with 0% mf. Probably spend like 10m on what ive gathered so far.

If I switch my weapon for mf weapon I get another +25%.My follower is using 25% GF weapon atm, so some MF to be gained there too.

So I would end at 290 MF/255 GF while only spending 10m, Tbh I've already gained most of that/maybe even more of that back by selling some of my GF gear.
By far the most expensive were amulet/rings. Ofcourse there's a huge price difference between getting 260GF/290MF as there is to 300/300. Just saying you can get quite close and save alot of money.

I think this depends on how lucky you are in finding the right gear at the right time of your search, how lucky in finding bargains and how long you spend in AH.

I am atm @ 265% MF / 280% GF (with Ferrets), and I don't think I've spent more than 10-20m so far.
I have max MF on about 8 items btw and 19 Pickup radius as well. I am a DH so no MF/GF weapon for me

One comment towards you I forgot completely. In all your things you keep assuming that people are going to gear for 300GF and get 150%MF or otherwise.

You can gear incredibly cheaply for 300%MF if you squeeze GF as a secondary stat, and what I posted should should MF makes more money than GF.

TLDR: you don't need to go expensive to get 300MF, put GF on the backburner
