Otto is one of the most notoriously-famous gold tycoons on the US servers for World of Warcraft. The little gnome has hegemonic domination over the server's market, and manipulates the rising and falling prices of high-demand goods.
The gnome's monopolic deathgrip strangles his competitors. He viciously buys out his competition, re-selling their products for inflated prices. He drags some of the best buys up from their former prices to a 200-500% increase. Anyone who is leveling a new character on Moon Guard, which is one of the most populated servers in the game, will almost always have one ore more encounters with Otto's extortionate prices on lowbie leveling gear.
Otto knows one thing for sure: he can capitalize on the laziness of his fellow players. Buyer convenience fetches a high price.
Moon Guard's tradechat is literally always filled with drama related to Otto. Fans of Otto will rush to his defense and justify his market schemes and economic genius, while agitated (and reluctant) buyers will almost always scream out in rage upon first encountering the inflated markets of Moon Guard.
