When is Wrath Classic?!

This is the question many anticipating a release soon are asking themselves. There is some things we can look at and speculate a timeline so lets do that. One of the biggest things I think is worth looking at is the leak that got many things correct about Dragonflight. MMO-Champion user Scaleface, who in the past accurately leaked details about Legion, said Dragonflight would include a new playable race called Dracthyr, a new class called Evoker, the return of Classic style talent trees, and there only being two trees instead of one. Any of this sound familiar to you? If you've been following World of Warcraft at all it should ring a bell as every single thing listed came true. It is pretty clear this Scaleface person has an in at Blizzard. But what does he say about Wrath? Well Wrath Classic according to Scaleface is coming out in September. With that in mind and today being July 12th when are they going to fit in the 50% XP buff and 4-6 week pre-patch then? We're running out of time!


With all this information above we can break it down. They are going to have to announce at minimum 1 week advance for the Season 4 PvP system in TBC to give players a fair warning for a final push. There is also a WOTLK Beta going on right now that is insanely buggy. Complete quest zones, items, and more are completely broken. It seems nowhere near ready. On August the 9th the dead realms will be merged meaning that arena season mentioned above will have to finish that week or the week prior at the latest. The "Joyous Journeys" buff (50% experience boost) is confirmed to last 6-8 weeks also and that is "through the pre-patch". So there is a period of time prior to pre-patch that are still in TBC with a 50% experience buff and the mage nerf. So this concludes that the following is pretty likely with the information we are given.

• Experience point buff coming on July 20th or 27th, 2022

• Current Arena season ends August 3, 2022

• Server merge coming August 10, 2022

• The beta ends on August 17, 2022, the pre-patch starts and the fresh start servers go live

• WotLK Classic will be released on September 14, 2022

In Dragonflight news we got two new talent trees to dig through and that is the Hunter and Rogue. Which brings our total to Death Knight, Hunter, Rogue, Druid, and Priest. WoWHead has a great calculator that you can play around with by clicking here. Some notable things I noticed in the Rogue Tree that just came out was ShadowStep will be available for all Rogue specs if you so choose now, they also get a new god tier mythic plus talent called Indiscriminate Carnage which makes your next Garrote and Rupture hit all enemies within a 10 yard range, and a party wide buff that lowers cooldowns of players in your party/40 yard range by .2 seconds per combo point spent. Pretty crazy stuff and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Lastly Blizzard is bringing back Blizzcon in 2023. In this LA Times interview Blizzard states To me and I imagine many others this is very exciting news. Blizzcon was always a staple in the Blizzard-sphere and it definitely separates them from the rest. If it's anything like the former Blizzcon's this will be a great return. Hopefully they don't screw it up.
