„Oh noes, not another ‚how to change your race’ thread please, we already got more than one million of 'em!“
This way how to change your race into another is updated for patch 3.0.2
Changing races still isn’t hard and the techniqe didn’t really change.
Well, as long as Glitchy’s MES isn’t updated, I think this will help some people out

Any Batch renaming programm, I’ll use “batch renamer” in this guide, just google it
in this guide we'll do gnome female -> undead male
Step 1.
Open common.mpq in MWCS and search for your race you want your char edited to under the “character” folder.
Step 2.
leftklick the SCOURGE folder and then rightclick it to extract the WHOLE folder to your desktop, named SCOURGE
Step 3.
Open the SCOURGE folder on your desktop and delete the female sub-folder (if you want to be a female undead, you'd have to delete the male sub-folder)
Step 4.
go in the male sub-folder, there should all over be such files like "ScourgeMaleFaceLower..." and so on. now we are going to make the real edit
Step 5
open the male sub-folder in your batch renaming programm, i use batch renamer, because it's simple and works perfect. replace "ScourgeMale" with "GnomeFemale" (if you change human male to troll male, you'd have to replace "TrollMale" with "HumanMale", just as an example if you're asking urself what you need to replace if you don't make a GnomeFemale -> UndeadMale change) Let the Programm rename everything. After the work is done, it should look like this
Step 6.
After everything being renamed, create a new folder on your desktop called " CHARACTER " (caps!!). Dropp the SCOURGE folder in the CHARACTER folder and copy any file from the SCOURGE folder in the CHARACTER folder. should look like this
Step 6 b)
Rename the SCOURGE folder to Gnome
Step 7.
go back to MWCS and select under "Pack(P)" Create MPQ archive
name the file patch-#.MPQ (# = a-z | 3-9) and save it to your desktop or wherever you like to save it.
Step 8.
rightclick the white (left) fielf on MWCS and select "Import Folder...".
Select the file you copied into the CHARACTER folder you've copied out of the SCOURGE folder in a previous step.
in the picture below you can see a folder called " SCOURGE ". I forgot to rename it to Gnome, sorry for that!
Step 9.
Save and close achieve, you're done.
