    [App]M2-Injecter 3.x

    Well,
    a little plugin for ArtOfIllusion( -> ArtOfIllusion) which allows you to import and reinject m2-models into it.Just put it in your ArtOfIllusion-Plugin folder.
    Supports 3.x, so you'll have to have all *.skin files extracted!
    Also included a new m2modder which supports 3.x(mostly)
    Sources included.

    Been waiting for something like this to come out since I learned about this type of modding. Time to learn a new 3D program.

    What do you want to know? You can edit .m2 files with Art of Illusion.
    Download AOI, put the plugin into the plugins folder, start the program, open a m2 (file->import->m2 file) and have fun!

    I installed AoI and put the plugin into the plugins folder...
    I cant import m2s, it loads and loads and loads, doesnt seem to crash, but never finishes loading. :- /

    running vista64

    tried everything now.. cant get m2s to open.. dont know how to get them now into 3dsmax :- /

    Gosh, this is nice. I haven't tried Art of illusion program, but what formats can it import? Can it import .3ds files too?

    Been looking for this for quite some time, thank you so very much for taking time out of your day to make this.

    +Rep, for certain. However, would it be too much to ask for a 3ds Max plugin as well? I myself have grown accustomed to 3ds, and it really is a bitch learning new 3d model editing programs.

    If it's too much to ask, I'll crawl back into my cave and you can forget I asked. However, if you could consider it, it would be much appreciated.

    @dummyadress: have you extracted all the *.skin files for the m2 like the redcolored text says?

    @Soul Eater: it can import *.obj this should be enough I think

    @Flamewalker: 3ds Max would be C++ I think and I don't know anything about the API so it would be: access in C++ without the Taliis-Libs which needs more work and learning the API <.< so no I'm too lazy; just import the m2 into AoI then export it to obj, import the obj into 3ds Max, edit and export to obj again and then reimport it into AoI and inject it into the m2 ^^

    Ah great, .OBJ , that is enough yes, but wait if I for example export my model with the UVW map in 3DS Max, with as format .OBJ (UVW map intact) and then I import it in that Art of Illusion, would it still have the UVW map coordinates and maintain shape? By the way, gratz with contributor

    EDIT:

    If AOI can import .OBJ files and maintain everything what the .OBJ file have, then we got ourselve a new converter (if it works ^^)

    Just make your model in 3DS Max. Apply UVW map, export model as a .LP, import the .LP model, then export the .LP model as a .OBJ model (reason I do this is because .LP maintain every single piece of data, at least for me, sometimes when I export as a .3DS directly the model loses some of it's components so I often use this cross conversion)

    Then if you got your .OBJ model, just import it onto AOI, then export with that plugin it into a .M2 format.

    I don't know how the plugin works and what formats it supports, but if my theory is right then this can actually works.

    Second edit: blegh didn't read yer post thoroughly lol, o well cba to edit any more ^^ but really nice program yes, gonna download AOI and test it out.

    Triple edit: I'm in the process of exporting it now into a .M2 format, but is there a limit on how many vertices the model can have? The export process is around 10 minutes now and it is still trying to export the model, I don't know how long it takes but thought I would better note that.

    It can atm only inject into the m2 were it was imported from so it's called Injecter(equal to the one Glitchy wrote ones);
    I'm working on creating but it makes some problems(the model just doesn't appear :/ ) so it will need some time.

    That was it, silly me.. thanks a lot to you..

    I played around a bit, but im a total noob as u sure noticed.
    I managed to alter a nightelf model as i wanted it to be..
    But for the sake of all gods, what did i do wrong to end up like THIS
