Just a little side note, I was experimenting a bit with a Troll Male => Night Elf Male conversion. I was able to change my Night Elf Males hair style if I went through the process as if I was a troll (my original char model). I also noticed a bit of a pattern with the hairstyles, the Night Elf Male Hairstyles appeared to be one # behind the trolls.
Example: if my troll's hairstyle was #2, then my Night Elf model would show Night Elf hairstyle #1.
A bit confusing, but I will have more solid info and possibly a guide for this change after a bit more experimentation.
Ok, so since i've only made TWO actual model changes on my account (Troll Male => NE Male and BE Male => Draenei Female), I was only able to test those for the hair changes. My example above is correct, for the troll => ne model, my NE hairstyle was always one # behind my trolls. It came out like this (Keep in mind, I was unable to test any other combination other then Male => Male):
Troll Hairstyle #0 = NE Buzzcut (Not an actual NE hairstyle, but didn't look bad)
Troll Hairstyle #1 = NE Hairstyle #0
Troll Hairstyle #2 = NE Hairstyle #1
Troll Hairstyle #3 = NE Hairstyle #2
Troll Hairstyle #4 = NE Hairstyle #3
Troll Hairstyle #5 = NE Hairstyle #4
Due to Troll having less hairstyles then NE, unfortunately some hairstyles just can't be used. The BE to Draenei change was much much simpler, they went hairstyle for hairstyle, what I mean is #1 BE male = #1 Draenei Female and so on (only tested BE Male => Draenei Female). I don't have any other model changes to test, so maybe someone else can look into others, but if not, I will work it in as a small project myself.

It was working before 2.3 for me but now it seems impossible... any help would be nice when i try it it just doesnt change hair style anymore![]()
I was going to change the hair on my model edited dorf... he had become a night elf female, but when I changed it, nothing happened to her... then I removed the night elf ME just to try the hair ME... then I could see my dorf being bold with the hair texture on top... you know that veeeery short cut they get under some head pieces :S HEEEELP!!!!

apologies friend, the link was dead for me : /
i did have a legitimate question though regarding this hair swap guide.
using the guide if i switch a hair style into another for a specific race, will that swap hold true when converting all of taht races Files into another race?
(In this instance im trying to convert hairstyle 12 into hairstyle 5 for Blood elf females, so that when i convert my files into the UD female folder, hairstyle 12 will be a choice labeled as number 5)
if anyone can tell me how to just manually open the Hair textures files, without having to go through this whole process that would make things so much more simple :P
not that anybody ever looks at the question/requests forum, so im gonna just go ahead and ask
would you use this same method, to change character facial features, for a model edit swap?
i mean all other races are straightforward
but Undead female into blood elf female, im thinking has got something to do with DBC files, because the facial feature blps are not extractable
