Hello everyone.
So, earlier today I had to do some texture swapping on WMO's where I found a tutorial on modcraft's forum on how to go about that. So... Once i got that working, I went on with my world edit. Then I encountered a problem with Taliis. It was being a bitch, once again! And I couldnt swap textures just like that, with any of Cryect's Tools. So... I thought... Why not try and hex it? =D So I did, and It actually worked brilliant! Note, Ive only figured out how to CHANGE a path, not add or remove.
Here's what I did:
Step 1: Get that ADT!
First, you get an adt from somewhere.
Step 2: Get a hex editor.
Download any hex editor (I advise using HxD, since that worked for me)
Let me get you a link: Hxd Hex Editor
Step 3: Edit it
Drag the ADT onto the hex editor.
Step 4: Search
Usually you only have to search for BLP, and the textures come up.
Step 5: Found
Change this to any BLP file. In-case there is less signs in the texture's treepath you want to add, you can just add a full stop for each missing sign. I do not really know if you can use texture treepaths that are LONGER than the previous one. Havent tested.
But this proves, that you can edit ADT's in a hex editor! =D
As far as I know, that hasn't been done yet.
Thanks
