How fix the wow from the Noggit Bug. (US)

So you cant start up wow anymore after trying to use Noggit? (DBC Startstrings error)

Step 1

Start by deleting your locale-enUS.MPQ which should be in 'World of Warcraft\Data\enUS'

Step 2

Download the torrent from ''http://rapidshare.com/files/44481675...34.TPB.torrent''

Note: If you do not have a torrent downloader, download and install from ''http://www.utorrent.com/''

Step 3

Open the torrent then deselect everything from the download but locale-enUS.MPQ.

Step 4

When finished downloading the file, put it back into the ''World of Warcraft\Data\enUS''

Step 5

Delete your chache in your WoW Folder.

And thats basicly it!

Testing now, seeing if it works. Does this fix the Noggit bug as well or just protect your wow from the Noggit bug?

Deleting cache is not important.
What you are doing is basically running repair.exe manually.
For Noggit to run, extract all data in that MPQ to /wow/ and then rename the file to something else to back it up. Upon running Noggit the file will be borked again.
Or just use a newer version of Noggit.

Cause my wow kept crashing on one character and I didn't bother testing the others characters. So I reinstalled Wow but my disk is broken so it only goes to 10% on first wow disk and error. So I installed from internet and ever since that my Noggit does the Startup_string error.

BTW: That WoW dont work hase nothing to do with noggit but with opening up the MPQs with two tools the same time. As I also develop on noggit, I run it hundret times, test around, save files, look ingame at them. And I havend a crashed wow now since 2 years.

So never use 2 tools the same time, that access the MPQ files. WoW is also such a tool
So if you have noggit open and start wow the same time, this can crash your wow.

I have 2 seperated copys of wow so I can work with noggit and take a look on my builds the same time. You can set the path to WoW in the noggit config file.

And WoW dont need an installation. Just make a copy on an extrenal HD, so you will never have to install it again. Just copy it back and run it.

Steff, there actually is no or really little problem with having wow and noggit open at the same time.
This bug really is caused by noggit.

But i diden have it and all guy i know also havent it if they follow the rule. DOnt open mpqs twice.
