As you can see, I've managed to swap my Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquisher for Alexstrasza and you can probably see too, that it lacks its flying animation.
Now what I would like to ask, is if it'd actually be possible to make it animated, because, honestly, who WOULDN'T like flying on Alexstrasza?
ok i just did this for swapping the hawkstrider for a unicorn, and after logging in, to my horror, all the orcs are now checkered boxes, care to explain to me how i fix that? (the mount was swapped as I expected it to be though.)
First I'd like to say, thanks a lot, was a very good guide and it worked perfectly.
I also did a swap to the Qiraj mount, and at first I had the eye issue, but the fix is pretty simple. Inside the DBC file, go to the actual Qiraj line. In (I think it is) row 6, you will see the blp line you copied to the in your case talbuk line. You will also have to copy the contents of row 7 to the talbuk line, in that row 7. It will have a name that contains something like, orange eyes or something.
After doing that, the boxes on the eyes disappeared for me, and it looked just perfect:

The solution is pretty simple. At the bottom of the white menu on the left, which contains Interface, there is a drop down menu, saying something with m2 in it right now. Change that to show all files, and voila. :>
No matter what I try I cannot get my Venomhide Ravasaur editted into the Black Qiraji Battle Tank !
Does the method in this guide still work?
hi,
I got blues boxes instead of shamans totems, did some one is having the same or found a solution ?
For some reason everytime I try to save the modifications on the DBC editor it gives me an error and a debugger opens.
I'm using Win7 64, and have already tried the compatibility troubleshooter.
Any clues?
I'm trying to mod a Furious Glad Drake into a Vengeful Glad Drake
The info would be 2828 to 2516, and texture is NetherDrakeEliteSilver
Hope that helps
Here is what it says:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Oh my god. Thank you soooo much! Worked perfectly!![]()
Nice mate, THANK U SO MUCH !!!!
Finally riding the phoenix mount ^^
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey
I'm having a hard time finding Swift Zulian Tiger in the model viewer, want to change it to Spectral tiger. Anyone know what I should be looking for?
EDIT: Found it, but just like kenshao I can't save the dbc file. Im using Windows 7 64 too.. :/

Okay, from reading most replies in here, no one seems to be in the same situation as me
When I try to find the great purple elekk in the model viewer, all I can find is "elekk.m2" and "elekkwild.m2".... The wild one is definitely not the right one, and the normal elekk.m2 doesn't show anything in the viewer, nor does it have other skins like the "real" elekk.... anybody who can help?I'm so sick of looking at my elekk, but I cba to farm rep with one of the major cities just to get another mount
*EDIT* pff nevermind - found it just now under "ridingelekk" >_<
*EDIT2* Now I tried everything it says in the guide, and I've tried doing other stuff several times - it doesn't work... And now I'm starting to have the same problem as Kashao and lulwutqqAnybody at all have a solution to that? I tried reinstalling the editor a million times (okay a few times, but yeah lol)
*EDIT3* Okay so I found out if I only try to edit the first patch file, and nor no 2 or 3, it won't make the error when trying to save.... Now there's only 1 problem; I did EXACTLY as the guide said, to the last WORD, with the same mount as in the guide (to see if it's working - have the mount on my main) and it DID NOT WORK for me......

Well I am a real newb at this and used the guide to start to learn about whats what. I've just spent most of the evening trying to get a simple mount swap working and finally succeeded!
Some things I found:
Whenever I touched Field 7 or 8 I would get this error when I tried to save,
"Cannot use the object type system.DBNull as system.string"
However leaving it alone (leaving whatever was in Field 7 andand only editing the ID (Field 1) and Field 6 in the DBC Editor meant I could save and all worked fine.
Also some people were saying they cant see the DBFilesClient folder. At the bottom left of MyWarcraftStudio there is a drop box. Click that and choose "All Files". You'll be able to see it. The real trick is actually finding you're mount model in WoWModelViewer(I'm still searching for the Zulian Tiger lol)
As I already said as well. I just did my first mount swap this evening. So the method (and original guide) still works.
Many thanks to the OP!
signed up just to say thank yoooou!
Your guide worked a treat and I look forward to trying some more mount swaps![]()
