[Question] DBC "Importing"(Explained)

I was wondering if it is still possible to DBC edit as of 2.3.3 :X

Trying to get 2.4 items in 2.3.3... the displayid's atleast,for use on a server. I did it for zul'aman items in 2.2.3 when ZA was on ptr still :\

but now it doesn't work :<

2.4 enUS patch - extracted ItemDisplayInfo.dbc, and Interface/ICONS folder
2.4 patch-3.mpq - extracted ITEM folder

Made new MPQ with:
DBFilesClient/ItemDisplayInfo.dbc
Interface/ICONS/etc
ITEM/etc

anything i need to do or would it not just work?
