Editing problems HELP

I am having complete problems in editing my models, you see im trying to change my mount into a custom mount linked in a thread, (houndmount). i have downloads my warcraft studio, and CVS. ive looked at a guide and i get how to but when i try to open the file its not there, like patch-2 and even common.mpq. well common IS there but ive tried opening it with wordpad before (long story) and i highlight and select open but it doesnt open anything. PLEASE HELP im getting frustrated here, any in put is greatly appreciated

To open MPQ you have to use My WarCraft Studio...

Also..

Go into MWCS and then Go to Open > Open MPQ archive... now go into your WoW folder/data and then select the MPQ.

thats the problem, i do, andi lcick it and it acts like its loading but nothing ever does its just a blank screen.

How big is the MPQ file..?
