Finding Item Ids

I'm making a web based program to customize items and I just need to know the method to finding what the ID is to certain items, it's not the same as the database code on wowhead or any other WoW websites, so how do people find out the codes to the items?

Well, to begin with this kinda..sorta.. belongs in the emulation section. But as i'm already here I'll give you a short answer to the question. You can find them in the database SQL files that come with repacks of antrix... MAngos... you name it there is a list somewhere.

That does help somewhat however...
1. This isn't an emulation question nor did I believe that this had anything to do with emulation so I apologize if it is
2. Those had to come from somewhere somehow, were those hand done every single one?

download wow model viwer open up items.csv in notepad or w/e

Shows most if not all items ID's up to date ( i assume etc arena 3)
