[Question] Importing and Exporting Models menu

    [Question] Importing and Exporting Models

    Alright, so I'm posting this here as a bit of a last resort hoping someone can point me in the right direction here.

    I've tried about a half dozen model editing programs, converters, tools, etc. Scoured Google and searched these forums for a few days now, and even though I've made some small progress I feel as though I'm hitting dead ends at this point. What I want to accomplish is this:

    1. Import an M2 into 3DS Max (or any model editing software, really. I'm not picky about this)
    2. Swap one animation for another
    3. Export the new model with swapped animations back into an M2
    4. Make it work in game.




    Sounds pretty simple, and I've have some small success with step one and two, but can't for the life of me find a reliable way of putting it all together. Any help would be appreciated.

    I wrote a guide on Modcraft for unanimated models: Modcraft - The community dedicated to quality WoW modding! - View topic - [Turtorial] Mdlvis and Convertion. For animated its the same but you first have to make a new skeleton like the original one's skeleton (exact same) and then paste your vertices and then reattach them. Then just transfer animations from original .mdl to your newmodel.mdl that you just created in notepad .
