How do I extract the in game navigation map (The stylized parchment map)

Hello all, I am looking into extracting both the mini-map data, as well as the parchment style in game maps.

The parchment style in game maps can be found here Coordinate-safe maps - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft

There is a guide for extracting the mini-map data using MQ that I found here Fun With The Minimap

These two posts I believe demonstrate that it is possible to recover the data I am looking for.

If anyone would be so kind as to give me a few simple instructions on how to do this that would be swell.

I would prefer that any recommended extraction tool be open source. C# is preferred but an unmanaged language would be fine as well.

    Thanks for your help
