PMVX file/codec?

I'm trying to upload the cinematics and they show as .avi but when I try to play them all I get is some error about a PMvX code? Does anyone know how I can upload these without ripping from the MMOChampion posted ones?

They're cinematics built into the game engine. So either Booby over at MMO-Champion is an employee or someone at Blizzard would be in big trouble for leaking to him how to get the videos to play.

EDIT: I remember seeing a post somewhere here on MMOwned on how to play cinematics on a private server but I can't for the life of me find it. Something about ::StartMovie or something

try to use this tool AVI FourCC Changer 1.00 | Software - (DivX/Xvid) Digital Digest for change codec identifier to "DIVX" (write it manually without quotes). it's works for most video, but not for all.

Nice idea VX2.Changing will force VLC to handle it as divx but it doesn't play the video. It recognize the video lenght, but thats all.

Since Cata the new cinematics are mostly impossible to play as they are missing key pieces of data. These are streamed to the client in real time as required by the server - so only the server can send you the required data that is needed to play the video. The pre-cata videos do not use this system, hence why wrathgate etc is played fine.
