Tauren with wings

Hello im here today to ask for some help. i have looked around meny of times looking for ways to help me with my ideal Character model.

As i play a horde druid i am stuck with a Tauren but hey they look better then some of the other races.
So im here to ask if theres anyone that knows how to add parts from other Npcs, cos i would like it when i am in normal form (Tauren form) so there is wings coming from its back. and when its in Flying Form. that the wings work so it looks like my tauren is flying with its own wings and no fly form skin.

If you know what i Mean to do then i would love to hear from you to help me make it. or if you have the time to make it for me. but i would love to have a little "project" to work on when i get bored of wow.


The NPC i would like the wings to come from is the Valkier or some other that works close the same way

(Edit) Just to add. would it be easier to change a cloak to wings then to add the wings to the Tauren model?

Cloaks don't got models, so not possible, unless you can edit the character model itself. What you could do is replacing a helm with those wings. Just export the valkyr model, import it in 3ds max, delete everything except the wings, and just position it in 3ds max and then export it as an M2 and then you swap your helm model with those wings. Don't forget to swap textures too.

I've seen some people that were able to pull of editing the character model and attaching something on it, but I do not know the exact method so hopefully someone else can enlighten more. But if no one can do it then this way should be able to get it done. But then again, you won't have the animations.

this is an example python script using pym2, which copies geoset 2 from the model gryphon.m2 to the model sheep.m2, allowing animations( note: it only copies the most recent bone for each vertex).
See line 265 for the call of the CopyMesh Method and lines 260ff for the models.

im sorry Tigurius but i dont understand what you mean with your post *never done anything like this before *

But i have done a bit more digging and seen some programs but none of them would work on my pc to make the model edit work

but i do know now that on the Valk (using WMV) its hairstyle 7 is for the wings only. just need to find a program that my PC can use then i will get busy making my 1st model edit on this site

So just need some pointers on what programs works for windows 7 and maybe some basic info cos from what i have searched for so far. i have not seen any that works with my pc but got 3ds Max on download so i will be giving that a good to see if it works
