Is it Possible to Model Edit on version 1.12.1?

I play on a private server that runs on a vanilla 1.12.1 client, and i would like to race edit/swap my character. But all of the programs and techniques to model edit that i found only support patches 2.0+. So i would like to ask if its possible to model edit on a vanilla client and if anyone knows how please reply.

So since 1.12.1 uses a folder named "WDB" Instead of "Cache" use this awesome program:

WDBModelSwapper.zip

Download, extract on desktop, Launch as administrator, click load and target "example: C:\Program Files\World of 1.12.1\WDB\Itemchache.wdb

let it load and SWAP

Modelswapping was even easier that day. Just swap m2 and blp names + no need for a wowme

WDBModelSwapper only swaps models from items, i want race models.
And renaming the m2 and blp files crashes WoW.

You don't rename them hardcoded in the MPQ lol...you extract the m2 and blp > import them into a new mpq > and then rename them to something else.

Model edited also in 1.12 and renaming works. And yes I did it also on a private server if that matters.

Hi, first the model swapper you uploaded is removed from Mediafire (and im not sure that the one i found is the right one 2.0). but my main question was that when its done loading the Itemcache, i get a Runtime;9 error and the swapper crashes, you know why this happens?

Model edit using DBC editing or by overriding files ?

Previously when I tried to simply override textures files by renaming and the game ALWAYS crash when it needs to load the new MPQ. It was with WinMPQ.

If anyone could do a Tauren Female to NightElf Female (or Human Female) I would be forever in your debt.

I can swap the model and skin, but for some reason the texture for the face is a wierd orange and her long elf ears look like the texture of the horns. I can change the ear/horn issue, but her main face is so messed up.

Anyone have any advice on which .blp to edit to fix this?
